This girl loves her new 300!!!! She looks like an angry pokemon!
Hey all!!!
I freakin love my new 300!!! My first thoughts when I saw her, angry POKEMON!!!! So I named her accordingly, Mew Even before I brought her home, I was trying to figure out what I can do to make her more fit for me. So, I started with making her a bit lighter which is definitely a must. I am going to be removing the factory battery and installing a Shorai Lithium battery. I'll also be changing her exhaust and adding a Bazzaz system (Quick Shift with Traction Control) once she is broken in. Thinking of reversing the shift pattern moto GP style~! Muhahahahha!!! It took me a while to figure out how to remove the paneling because THERE IS NO SERVICE MANUAL AVAILABLE!!!! So, I did what any logical person would do, made a YouTube video Installing my Bikemaster HID's. I'm posting under "2013 Ninja 300 HID Install - Part 1: Side Panel and Seat Removal"
Link to original page on YouTube. Last futzed with by 2013 kawi girl; October 8th, 2012 at 08:48 AM. Reason: Added YouTube Link! |

You can also just copy and paste the url of the video if you don't want to embed it. Congratulations!
Mew! sounds appropriate! I assume then that it's white lol. If you get a second one, you should name it Mewtwo. Any pics? |

Sorry, modified the title and so I am just waiting for YouTube to catch up and allow the vid to be viewed. It should take no more than a day. Sorry for the delay. Note to self, editing on YouTube causes posting delays.

Very nice.
Are you doing a full retrofit DIY or are you just putting HID bulbs in the stock reflectors? |

I am bout to order some HIDs for my low and high beams.
Just putting HID bulbs in I think...much easier this way and the results are acceptable (although I would love projectors...) Congrats on the bike what exhausts are you thinking? Just a 250R exhaust? I am debating on waiting for the 300 exhausts or just buying a 250R two brothers black series pipe... |

I am doing a retrofit into my pregen headlight in my dorm room. It's really not bad at all. Get a projector for the low and leave the halogen for the high. It doesn't take long at all to get it apart (with some planning ahead of time) and as long as your headlight is deep enough, installing the projector isn't bad at all. Took my 30 minutes to get the whole thing apart, including the 15 minutes it took to bake it in a box with a friend's hairdryer.
If you're just doing HID in the oem reflector, 1) aim it down 2) keep the halogen in the in the high beam side so you can flash high beams if needed. |

I'm 99% sure its crank speed, when it senses a peek in revs from the back slipping it cuts spark. Its actually a very good system, and has been proven on 1000's a lot, someone even changed out the BMW factory TC and said it was a better system because it was so tune-able. Not sure how effective it would be on a 300 though

does anyone break loose the rear under power on these bikes??? i can see backing it in and losing both under brakes but.... spark kill for under-power traction control on a 300? i think wheelie control would be more useful on these bikes.

Neither is necessary or useful on these bikes. You don't lose traction under full acceleration on a wet road and stock tires. Completely pointless LOL like putting a huge spoiler on a stock Neon (except the TC unit won't make you look retarded BC nobody will see it)

wheelie control would be fantastic though, but it would have to be real wheelie control based on the fork position.

And thats all these new electronic toys are, ABS, wheelie control, damper, traction control, launch control, etc. They are all just tools to protect against the what ifs, bad rider input, and conditions out of our control, (most can still be categorized under user error) but its nice to have, especially when you test them out and know it just saved you

This is why I bought white non-abs. I don't like the special edition. Stupid move for Kawi I think but deal with it and buy the color you want non abs or go for special edition.. If you like the special edition definitely wait and get the abs model. If not, go buy a white one, I LOVE mine even though I initially planned imgetting a black abs before I found out it was special edition only. The white grew on me fast and now I prefer it over black, it is much more unique and gets more looks/compliments |

Welcome! I've been a lurker on here for awhile, but then I noticed in your other video and post that you mentioned Clawson's (I live in the same area you do and I'm also female). I probably sat on your bike before you purchased it (about two weeks ago or so), lol. The guy at Cyclegear told me they had a ninja300 and that it looked pretty bad ass, so I ran over there before they closed, so I could check it out (it did not disappoint!). I don't ride yet (I plan on taking the MSF class), but I've been absorbing information obsessively to prepare myself for what I'm about to get into and found your battery video informative and probably something I'll do, when the time comes. Keep the DIY videos coming.

Ha, unfortunately I have to wait until funds are available, as I spent all of my funds on a recent vacation. My timing is off, but I'm so glad I decided I wanted to get into motorcycling when the ninja300 was announced and not prior. I probably won't be on two wheels until spring, so I will continue to drool at other people's 300's and absorb information in the meantime!
