spring is here

Sure seems like spring is here!
Took the ninjette into super-tune last week to get it ready for the summer riding. Can't wait to get it back with it being 70's all week... Now if they would get all the sand and gravel off the canyon roads I would be set.

Yep, can't wait for that as well! That and some track days! Going be doing some final tuning on my bike in a couple weeks as well. Its still a little wanky on the low end. Its like it has boost once it goes past 5,000rpm haha.

Anyone up for a ride this coming Sunday or Monday? I'm gonna hit up the track one of those days or maybe both. Or I might go canyon carving one of those days (If I get confirmation from a friend that the roads are reasonable again).

Anybody been up to Golden Gate Canyon lately? I am thinking of riding through this weekend but the sand through there can be pretty bad after winter...

@nakedhunter I went through golden gate today half (the funner half haha) of it was pretty messy. You can ride through but just be careful since the gravel was often right in the middle of the lane. Be careful on the way up there as well there are lots of LEOs out just waiting to pull sportbikers over.

Peak to peak is a little messy, clear creek was clean, coal creek was messy in spots, lee park was relatively clean, and I rode some other places but I forget which roads.

Much thanks NissanNinja! I think that should be the first priority of the state for spring - get the sand off the roads so we can start the weekends off right

Oh dang dear getting out there too huh haha

Yeah that would be nice if they cleaned the roads but from the sounds of it people would be happy if we weren't riding the twisties at all Too many bikers just aren't going slow enough for the cages to be happy, since you know, the masses can't drive well

Lee Park?

Cold creek and Golden Gate is good, aside the gravel in the hairpins (as always). FYI - central city has a lot of construction on it....

Cool, I'll be riding the canyons till it starts snowing and getting dirty up there. I don't speed like a crazy person but I do hit corners at a pretty swift clip. PM me or reply here if you ever want to go riding in Boulder or feel ready to venture out more. I meet a lot of people there (well mostly a couple college friends I met haha).

I'm available pretty much whenever. The weather is gonna be cold for a little while so maybe next week sometime will be good if it doesn't snow too much (supposed to snow thurs). Next week will probably have some better weather. I'll ask around and see if anyone else wants to join for a ride. As long as you feel comfortable and in control of your bike should be smooth sailing.

Nobody I know, I do have a friend that was interested in getting one. I did see a person buying a 300 from fay myers a few weeks back, maybe they'll join up here one day.

Is the new 300 going to be your new track machine?

I still have the 250 as my main race bike, but I'm sure the 300 will see it's share of race/track time.

@Lakeshow seeing as its forecast to be mid 60s this weekend I might go for a canyon ride in boulder if you are interested. But keep in mind its not going to be very warm either. Some people told me its still decently clean up there with some small patches of gravel in the middle of lanes. So if you are up for it let me know, anyone else too.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Matt. So I've been lurking on this forum for over 4 years but it's finally time for me to get a ninja! I actually reside in New Jersey but I will be living in the Denver Area from Mid-June till the end of August because I received an internship there. I plan on getting my motorcycle endorsement in NJ before I get there. I would like to purchase a Ninja 250 in mid July so I have a bike to ride and explore Colorado with for a few weeks! I would love to meet you guys out there and get started on my two-wheel journey!

Edit: I'm def gonna need to know someone who can help me test drive the bike I wanna get lol!

EDIT*: So I posted this again because I got access to my old account. I made a new account under "mattp140" and made the original post but I've deleted that now.

Not sure if anybody here went, but this is the Colorado Sport Bike Club, with yours truly, riding in the St. Patrick's day parade, being idiots... This year they didn't seem to have a problem with burn-outs, which was a big change from last year... It's not a great video and a great example of a list of things NOT to do on the open road, but it will forever be a great memory for me!

I do want to get back there for more riding sometime. I rode through Colorado during the 2013 event as well, and have fond memories of Highway 141, on the way to the Hanging Flume bonus.

This post was long over due especially since it's going to be almost 3 months that I left Colorado.

I had the amazing opportunity to spend my summer in Colorado during a 10 week internship. In that time I got to do so many things including hiking a 14er, camping, visiting red rocks, going to a track, white water rafting, brewery tours and much more.

I have to give a special shoutout to my now good friend @spooph. He helped me fulfill my dream of riding a motorcycle. Spooh, allowed me rent his bike for the time I was here. I can truly say it was probably one of the best times of my life and it wouldn't be possible without him. We were able to ride together often and he really opened my eyes to the life on two wheels. He's an awesome dude with a lot of wisdom. If any of you guys are in Colorado and want to rent or just ride with him he's always fair game.

Never did I imagine that a nooby like me would be able to go to a track day after about 8 weeks of riding. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of some of you guys and the overall bike community.

I made a small montage of my summer, hope you enjoy it!

I hope to be visiting Colorado soon and riding with y'all again!
