Howdy from Fort Lauderdale

Saying I'm a new member wouldn't exactly be true. I've been lurking on the site for almost a month now. I'm a little shy. What can I say...

I bought a green 2008 250. My first bike. It is just what I wanted, an easy bike to ride where I couldn't get myself into too much trouble. So far, so good. My only complaint is how bad the wind affects the bike on the highway. I did not realize it was as bad as it is. If the wind blows from the left, it feels like I have to put all of my weight on the left just to keep it up.

My only worry is that I am developing the itch. Yes, the itch for more power. What makes it twice as bad is my riding partners all have 750s and 1000s, which means I am usually the last one to make it to our destination. But, it's all good. I got the 250 to prevent me from speeding, but still enjoying the ride.

I look forward to contributing a bit more than I already have.

it's great to have you with us Andre.... I know y'all are hurting for twisties down there, but if you hit some of those with your buddies on the bigger bikes, they'll find it a lot harder to pull away!

You are so right! There are no twisty roads, or hills (unless you count the landfills and on-ramps). I'll be moving to DC in the next 2 months. I plan on taking full advantage of the Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia roads. Can't wait! I really need to work on my confidence in the turns.

Thanks for the welcoming everyone!
