I've done it on street tyres many times and recently my Alpha-13s. I think with modern radials, it's not so much of concern as old days with bias-ply tyres.

I have no problem flipping tires if I need to. Especially with the 250 Ninja being light and low horsepower.
The good thing about the current race series that I'm in is that we have four different track configurations and we alternate running clockwise & counterclockwise so no flipping necessary. |

I'm curious about the term "dot race tires". I thought race tires were normally non-DOT rated, since they don't see public roads. Are these DOT rated tires that are also suitable for the track?

They are race compound tires that pass DOT regulations, but offer little to no wet support.

I will only flip "my own" tires purchased from new. I never flip take offs no matter what tire they are. dot - slicks. I find flipping is very track dependant.

Some tires don't really work well flipped, Dunlops mainly. They can begin to delaminate because of the way the plies are laid down internally.
With pirellis, no problem. Not sure about the Dunlop A13's though, haven't heard any issues and never flipped my own.

That was some pretty good lean angle just before the crash. Like dry weather lean angle.

Up to the crash, it looked like you were riding very conservatively, but in that last turn it didn't look so conservative.
I know what you mean. I did a couple laps on the Dragon this spring when 129 was wet, and I can't say I enjoyed it much. |

That is not entirely true for Dunlops these days. I know they now have some race tires they specifically designed to be flipped if desired.
