Suit design comparisons and thoughts

Getting myself a suit made that will actually freaking fit my weird proportioned body. My rough draft and the suit designer's first draft are attached. Would love to see what everyone thinks.

Wow, okay, Ninjette does NOT like transparent PNGs. One moment.

Edit: fixed.

Awesome! I like the first one.

A thought though, make the "sponsorship" or "supports" (pirelli, ninjette.org) logos patches that are sown on vs dyed into the leather. That stuff KILLs resale value. Life changes, your body changes but patches can always be removed and put on your next suit!

I like the second one. Purple is my wifes favorite color and it's the one she would choose!

My (short) thoughts: I like a lot of aspects of his design -- his logo work is kind of neat and the lines are more dynamic. On the other hand I'm not sold on /those/ lines and there is a bit of an 80's vibe I'm not completely digging. I'm also questioning light blue/white as primary colors for me (black and purple have always been my goto pair). Though lightening the suit does have some nice elements. I definitely want to do my own second draft after doing some thinking.

Nice that the designer can work with you like that and get you exactly what you want! (I like the purple, too)

First one. White with purple accents. White will always be in style. All purple may get "dated" quickly. I used to love my red corduroy pants. Today; not so much! But I still love red!
Definitely sewn on badges!

Most important though: quality & overbuilt! You are serious about track & racing! You want maximum, repeated protection! Heavy cow and lots of padding!
My 2 cents!

Going with a compound kangaroo and cow leather mix (kangaroo in the areas where flex and give is more important, thicker cow in the less flexible areas and where injuries tend to occur)

The suit is already being custom cut for my body; I have serious doubts I'd ever sell it and if I did if I could find a buyer. How many girls out there have "Dem hips" while also having broad shoulders due to XX/XY/XXY mosiacism? :P

I like how the lighter colors give it some brightness. The heat honestly isn't a concern, my current one piece is all black so I'm used to baking :P

I'm not sure all purple is really a fashion choice so much as a 'me' thing. I do think, after seeing his design, that adding some more balance will make it pop a bit more. I've been a purple girl since elementary school though. :P Not changing.

---

Finally just as a general comment -- For any of you with a sense for these things specific thoughts on what you like/dislike is more actionable for me (otherwise this would be a poll :P). That's why I'm iterating on what I like about each design pass and integrating things. I mean, seeing which one people like is fun and cool but knowing WHY you like it lets me see if I can't mix the best of each design for something better than both inputs.

Sorry, being a bit spammy. I was looking at the designs and finally realized the big thing rubbing me wrong with Heroic's design. Everyone knows the old gear joke "Pirate or Power Ranger" referring to the different style types for bikes.

Within the sports community though I think there's a continuum I'll call the "NASCAR<->Power Ranger" continuum. On the NASCAR side you have the design that's all about distinct appearance, lots of logos, etc. The Power Ranger is more 'solid'/less busy and more about about personality (e.g. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...odedCharacters ). Being that custom suits are made for racers, their instincts are distinctly "NASCAR" (or, in this case, Moto3) -- my preference/style is VERY Power Ranger.

Hey Yakaru, never make excuses for being YOU young lady!

Have them make the suit that brings a smile to your face every time you put it on. All the designs are pretty cool in their own ways, hard to go wrong really.

Exactly what Chris said!
But if I've read your request correctly; you've asked what we think. A virtual total dominance of purple would scream Power Ranger to me. For me; purple accents would have more impact.
But; if you choose a preponderance of purple then I insist you get a "Raisin Bran" or "California Raisins" achievement award!

As for resale: perhaps you have/had 3 legs but you don't have 3 arms! I guarantee there are multiple buyers in your "unique" shape even if you are AC/DC XYZ to the 3!

@Yakaru - You ever thought about tones of yellow and gray vs black? I have done many websites in similar color schemes, and many find it visually appealing.

Play around with this too. http://paletton.com/

Reason I like the first one is because it's not all dominated by one color. Mixing it up and adding other colors to exaggerate certain features of the suit / your body (insert whistle emoji). The second draft of the second option is more appealing cause of those addition of black and white. Obviously, as this is more your own suit I would stick to not placing to much emphasis on sponsor recognition, since your mostly giving a shot out to those rather than having to place them there cause it's part of a sponsor contract.

Kind of like the Fig Newton sticker on the windshield in Talladega Nights.

Even if I hit 'official sponsorships' I'd rather bike decal it than put it on my suit for a number of reasons.

I don't really like the blue on the first one. It just seems out of place to me.

I think the white accents on the third one make it pop a little more. If you like the purple, perhaps you could use white in place of some of the black, rather than in place of purple?

Or just go full bard on it. =)

I like the look of the second draft. The first one would definitely feel cooler in the sun but the blue isn't really you.

ok here's my not so pro opinion. the rear on the second draft is good but the front needs work. the front seems cluttered do to the lines of that purple shield not flowing with the design. I'd ether lower the height of the shield to expose more white then change the upper lines to meet the edges or better yet ditch the purple shield area and make that part all white above the lower section of purple at the bottom of the zipper. then you can bring back the larger purple vixen design used in the first drafts more white option.

Hmm, I'll play with it some. This is where I admit that a big part of my inspiration was this suit:

Could you do the white with the purple shield on the back? I think the asymmetry pops.

What would it look like if you replaced the blue trim with the Pirelli/CSS yellow? Might be too much yellow in back but I think the front would look good. Maybe black with yellow fox "swirls" on the back of the arms.

What's the significance of the trident? I keep thinking Maserati.

What would it look like if you replaced the blue trim with the Pirelli/CSS yellow? Might be too much yellow in back but I think the front would look good. Maybe black with yellow fox "swirls" on the back of the arms.
