Yeah, I'm ok. Really sore though.. I was in a curve going about 30, and ended up in the ditch. When I realized I was going down I pushed off the bike so it didn't land on me. I rolled in grass and it stopped in the ditch. The whole side fairings need replacing, rear beak broken peddle, wide mirror broken off, damage to the muffler from the brake peddle jamming into it. All things considered I was lucky, the bike can be fixed. I'm just mad at myself. Pics to be posted shortly to the proper thread.

Glad you are ok and hope your insurance takes care of your baby.

I didnt have collision so they are saying its not covered. It was explained to me when I first got coverage collision just covered accidents with another vehicle. This accident was just me and the road... So I may have to argue... Anyone knowledgeable on insurance coverages? I have comprehensive/liability with Geico..

Crashed my bike 9/1/2013

Well, I was out for a ride and wrecked. I was going through a turn at 30 mph and went off the road. Before I knew it I was about 10 feet away from the bike and it was in the ditch. Luckily I am just sore. The bike on the one side is all messed up. Hopefully it can be fixed! I just want it back just as good as new.

Fighting with insurance since I only have comprehensive. Anyone insurance smart? The wreck just involved my bike and me. No other vehicles or anything.

Unfortunately collision coverage is what you needed. Collision covers all of the damage to your bike if you are in an accident, no matter what the cause. The only exception is if you crash into another vehicle, and they are found completely at fault; as then their liability insurance would help cover your damages. In this case, you're about to learn an expensive lesson in understanding how vehicle insurance works. The damage you listed doesn't sound like it would be hugely expensive, so it may depend on what you decide you can live with cosmetically, and what really needs to be fixed to be safe.

Yeah, I want it to cosmetically look the same... So it may be a slow process. I created another thread with pictures and description. Can you move that to here too?

Don't worry about repairing the cosmetic stuff. This is your first bike correct? The chances of the bike going down again are kinda high. Just ride the piss out of it now and learn how to really ride. If I were you I wouldn't have even contacted the insurance company.

So to get you back riding... It appears that you REALLY only NEED a right mirror and right rearset. Both of those should be easy-ish to come by from someone building a race bike.

I know you want it back to 100%, but that is where the $$$ goes up-up-up. Stock mufflers might also be cheap from a take-off. Bodywork can generally be repaired and repainted, and some shops will have guys that do that stuff on the side for cash.

The front fairing with the small crack on the right side? Just do "plastic soldering" or however they call it. Then on the back side, slap on some duct tape but if you really want durability, get some fiberglass patches behind it. Bike's white, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too hard to paint match it. Actually, you can probably get away with leaving it on.

Bothers you?

Slap on a small nosquiding.com vinyl on it. XD

Hey, looks like you have the same tail and side bags I do. Tell me they aren't jinxed!

Seriously, sorry about the accident, I hope the insurance company will be speedy in making things right for you.

I only had the tail bag on during the ride when I wrecked. And unfortunately I only have comprehensive coverage so insurance wont be covering anything. I plan on doing the mechanical repairs and then slowly doing the cosmetic stuff until hopefully next year for riding season it will be back to its original glory!

So the dealership, or I guess stealership as you all call it finally got back to me with the quote from my accident. To fix EVERYTHING, including all cosmetic damage they quoted me 3839.00. Just for the mechanical stuff (right rear set/back break, right mirror, and right bent handle bar) its going to be around 750 bucks. The storm trooper will have the mechanical stuff fixed and then just look like it was in battle for awhile.

Man. Hope you have a fatter wallet than I do.

Just me opinion... don't waste the money on having them replace your mirror or rearset.

I could pay for all the cosmetic/mechanical stuff as it stands, I just don't want to cut into savings. The 750 is no problem... They just told me about 2 weeks before I get the bike back. When I bought this bike I was trying to decide between it and the 650. I saved the extra cash and went with the 300 for my comfort level. So that extra cash that would have bought the 650 is just in savings now. Now some is just going back in for repairs. I need to learn how to do some of this stuff on my own!

Bullshit quote, I hate dealerships

I'm telling you, looking into fixing those cracks with some fiberglass patches on the backside. Then you can fill the crack with abs cement if it still bothers you.

Yeah, I plan on buying the plastics elsewhere and the other things that need to be replaced slowly. I will take the opportunity to eventually get an aftermarket muffler I was looking at anyways too. No need to drop almost 4K on a bike that was originally less than 4700 OTD. Im just vain and dont want scratches on it....

Look in the for sale section here, or get your parts from eBay, go aftermarket!!! Cheaper than the stealership!!! Then you can call it custom
