Um, brake check a car and you'll loose. Hope the driver presents the video to argue the ticket.

another douchbag rider to make the rest of us look bad, he deserved everything he got, your right fishdip, too bad his skin wasn't laid out on the asphalt for 100ft. he might have learned his lesson then. I'm sure he sued this cager as well, this is one instance where I take the cars side

that's what I am trying to figure out, possible cause the cager was in the fast lane and not going fast enough for the biker? wish there was more video in the beginning to see if there was a prior altercation.

keep right except to pass. move your ass over, even if you think you're the fastest one on the road.

should be the motorcyclists fault. Definitely reckless driving.

The court will probably rule that the driver could have increased distance after the rider came in front and taunted him. That doesn't excuse the rider's idiotic behavior, though. It's interesting how long the driver spent checking his car for damage before going to help the rider. He clearly thought the rider got what he deserved.

There was a news article awhile back of a harley rider who did the same and died in the resulting collision. It's just plain stupid. Never trust the other driver's reaction time. Just ride on! But if you're must do something, just poke their passenger mirror out of place. Harmless.

I think it was all about the music. Biker was stuck behind the cager and couldn't take that music anymore, pulls around cager, looks back saying,"change that tune" as he puts his hand up, cager tries to get closer to hear what biker said and rear ends him. Classic.

Did you notice how quickly the two 18-wheelers (in the opposite lane) pulled over, got out and ran across the highway to aid the rider?

I'm impressed by those guys, it's good to see that sort of instant concern and action for a fellow human being in need.

That rider earned that wreck. The driver did try to put a safe distance but the rider was a damned idiot. As far as keep right except to pass, that isn't the law in some states.

What I want to know is what rig the driver is using to record his travels and where it was at.

I think he wanted to get the cager out of the fast lane. I think @Motofool would say to him that you're riding to survive not riding to teach people!

I run it to that situation everyday. I just go around the person and then leave them in the dust, not slow down and try to get run over. That dude was asking for trouble, and he got it.

If you absolutely feel the need to make a point, you can make a pass really close and pull in front of them really close, going fast enough that they can't hit you. Still not a good idea, but brake checking a car is just stupid.

Just because it's not a ticket-able offense, doesn't make it right. It's common sense and general courtesy. It pisses people off and is a cause of road rage.

Disagree.

In the case of the video, the driver had already passed a bus and a car and was gaining on a tanker truck. He is obviously going faster than those in the right lane. He was probably looking ahead, saw that the tanker was going slower, and stayed in his lane to pass the truck. If the bike is in that big of a hurry, pass on the left and move on.

I have never understood drivers that get on my rear when I'm in the left lane, going faster than traffic beside me. I am not about to pull over, slam on my brakes to avoid rear ending the car in the neighboring lane, just so the driver behind can get off on their power trip. I'll move over when it's safe and reasonable for me to do so. Don't like it? Tough.

Lets not take anything out of context here, there is obviously no need to endanger yourself to allow someone to pass you. That is not the case in this video.

From the car passing the ford until the motorcycle passed the car, the driver had almost 30 seconds of clear roadway to move over. The tanker wasn't even in view. If you can't move your car over to let someone pass when you have over a 30 second gap, you're doing something wrong.

And the motorcycle had an equal amount of time to pass the driver. Again, if anyone stuck behind a slower vehicle is in that big of a hurry and an open lane is beside you, pass.

and you wonder why people get upset at you...

lets not forget the fact that it's quite dangerous to pass on the right, especially on a motorcycle. Most motorists aren't expecting it, and tend to move right without doing much to check their mirrors.

uhh I agree that left is generally for passing, but getting road rage and brake checking a car is not a good idea... as we saw... lol

Everytime I watch it I feel less pity for the biker...

The reason why so many drivers have dash cams is because of how common road scams are there. Biker's got no chance in court regardless of wether or not the driver didn't go along with his brake checking game.

I will say this, I usually ride slower than the speed limit, and usually camp out in the right lane, passing when needed. If traffic is light and there is nobody on my tail, I'll just keep my speed as is, if someone is coming up behind me I'll speed up to the speed limit.

I won't speed for people who want to do it though. If they don't like having to slow down to the speed limit while I pass another vehicle, they can suck it. I just don't care.
