Jetting for Laguna Seca with stock Exhaust
I'm taking my 2008 Ninja 250 to Laguna Seca in a few weeks. Right now it has a full Area P Exhaust, and I added the Factory Pro jet kit. I took the 98 jets out and installed 95's. The bike runs great like this at Chuckwalla (elevation 559 ft). It idles poorly at Streets of Willow (elevation 2342 ft) but when you ring it out it seems to be ok. Now I have to put the stock exhaust back on to run Laguna Seca (elevation 52-175 ft). Should I plan to re-jet it, or just run it? It's just for a track day, not a race, but I don't want it to run like super poo. What jets do y'all use in Salinas?

I would think your 95's would do you well for anything < 1000ft.
Why is your jetting so sensitive or is just the rider sensitive?

I'm with Chris on this one. The bike runs lean already stock. It will be fine with the 95s.

Ok, great. Thanks folks!

I just don't want to pay for the full track weekend, drive for 8 hrs, and have the bike run poorly and have to swap jets in the parking lot. Truthfully, I don't want to swap jets at all. I'm lazy/impatient, but then have high expectations that stuff works right. #typicalwoman |
