Takes a lot of effort to push the bike
Pushing the 250 around the garage in neutral with the bike off takes a lot more effort (150% more 200% more?) than it does with my other bike.
The pads aren't dragging on the discs (at least as far as I can tell) so I think that leaves the bearings in the rim itself? Is this an accurate assessment? Is there anything else that could be causing this extra drag? Do I pull the wheels off and grease the bearings/replace the bearings? Thanks in advance. |

do you have front and rear stands? get the wheels off the ground and give them a spin.

The pads have to be draggin' my good man. If the bearings where that bad, you would have other clues. Either way, get the wheels in the air and try to spin them by hand. The front should spin pretty freely, but the rear should spin only a revolution or two because of the chain drag.
Also try to move the wheels side to side as well to check for slop in the bearings. And listen closely, the only noise you should hear is the chain.

hell, you don't even need a front wheel stand a floor jack under the cross bar on the exhaust and a rear stand works fine.

Or the chain could be way too tight...

Nice addition, this is 100% accurate. Should be an easy diagnosis on that too.

Another thing to check is a strong lack of alignment of the rear wheel that makes the side of the tire drag on the swing arm.
