Running rich - will removing snorkel help?

Replaced my spark plugs and the old ones indicate that my bike's running rich

https://www.ninjette.org/forums/atta...5&d=1435722124

I don't know much about diagnosing the exact source of the rich mixture. I cleaned the carbs and I reallllly would rather not take it out again to adjust the jetting. I came across a post saying that removing the air snorkel is very easy and it will bring the mixture to a leaner side. Do you think it will help in my case as well? Seems to me that the snorkel can be re-inserted if it ends up screwing with my bike, so I'm tempted to give it a try.

Other than seeing that my spark plugs are black, I don't really know how to tell that it's running rich. It runs fine for the most part and I haven't had any issues that I couldn't fix, so far.

dont trust old plugs. if you want to do a plug check, do it with new plugs. carbon buildup will make any old plug look like its running rich

It may help a little bit, but don't expect big changes. And... reinstalling the snorkel is an A1!!!!!!! pain in the arse. Honestly, your plugs don't look that bad.

The new plugs have been in for about one week now. I need to readjust the throttle cable this weekend, so I'll look at the plugs too if I get motivated enough... I'm not experiencing any issues with the bike so far, so I may just leave it as is.

Just leave the snorkel alone.
