Another tach issue

Hello Everyone,

I am having an issue with the tachometer as follows:

On every run, after 5 mins or so of run time and riding ,the tachometer stops working ( zero reading ) for around 3-4 minutes and it is back to normal like nothing happened.

The bike pulls hard and performance is not affected... Could someone the steps to troubleshoot the issue, how is the tach connected to the motor ?
Can i check if some connections are loose, what can be done before actually replacing the tachometer..

It is a ninja 2011, if that helps

Welcome Ben!

Others here and there have had similar issues. Some where fixed by replacing the tach, others replaced their CDI. As far as troubleshooting yours, follow the below steps.
