Revisited my crash site...
and 1.5 years later its still just as bad...
I know for a fact a week after me another rider crashed and I can only wonder how many more. If you go in with any half decent amount of speed you're going down... The video from last year... Sorry but I can't post a video for whatever reason, here is the url https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIldgZD8nto

He slipped a bit on the loose stuff, lost confidence in his traction, target fixation on the creek.
If he just stayed in the throttle and targeted on the apex he would have been OK. (easier said then done)

hahaha, I didn't lose confidence in my traction, I lost traction period. I didn't even know the damn pond was there let alone fixate on it... Watch the video and you'll see the bike shake and get a good wobble which is when it lost grip and sent me off course. Its right at 31 seconds, after that I just had no run off...

Somebody needs a blower an a broom out there... Looks like a ****** part of an otherwise great road :/
I can't say for sure what happened, but I do know a bobble in a turn will take any confidence you had an turn it to poo!

we pulled it out with manpower and then I rode home. I have to give props to my fellow riders who no hesitation started taking their boots/socks off and rolled up their pants to get me out. The first guy actually had to help me get the bike off myself. I was balls deep in water with my legs crossed over one another and the bike sitting on my hip/stomach area, I had no leverage whatsoever...

Definitely a bad situation to catch an unsuspecting rider by suprise. Sorry you had to find out the hard way.

Have to agree with what Allanoue said. Looks like you lost traction and either went to brakes or just decelleration along with standing the bike up caused you to run wide. Not saying I would have done anything different, just saying what I see in the video. I have had similar instances and been lucky to recover. I watched this when you first posted it and again today. I think you were lucky you did go off the road where you did since there is a large Birch tree just a few feet further up the road you could have tangled with! Live and learn---learn to slow way down for that turn. Glad you were not hurt and still got a great video out of it all.

That sucks. I have had the same situation happen to me with some loose gravel on the road with my cruiser a couple years ago. I got lucky by giving it the gas and keeping leaning I was able to push through the slide and I was ridding the right edge of the road as I came out of the turn and straightened up. Then last summer I did the exact same thing you did with my ninja 250. Except there was no pond. I rolled into completely loose gravel on a milled stretch of road. I didnt feel like I could avoid low side following the curve and I went straight off the road with a hard highside to finish.
No shame in wiping out. But ridding a dirt bike would be a good way to learn about Sketchy traction issues. When in doubt wring it out. Pin it to win it. and Just keep trucking. Glad you werent hurt. and this time you got to ride back and confront your past!
