Backfiring and popping

need some info, when i let off the throttle in a higher gear at high speeds, i get a lot of popping and backfiring as the engine slows down. is there a way to fix this? will removing the kleen air system help? its not very common and i can avoid it if i remember, but its just annoying.

Cleaning your air filter may help if it is dirty and clogged.

Keenan,

Have you done any mods? If so, what are they?

What do you mean plug the top of the valve cover? Could it also mean his bike is still running too lean that the jets are the wrong size for his bike?

If it runs a little leaner you may want to adjust the air/fuel mixture to richen it up. The ninjettes allready run a little lean from the factory.

remove the Kleen air system.

also, consider shimming the needles, if you want a better responding bike.

Evap system and Kleen air are different systems, though the evap does feed in to the Kleen air. Evap is cali only, Kleen is on everyone (carb'd at least).
