Won't be able to ride for 3 months, any storage tips?
I won't be able to ride for a few months, other than draining the gas and disconnecting the battery, is there anything else I should do to prevent any problems when I try to start it up again 3 months from now?

just ride it for three months
but really the only additional thing i would do is change the oil. and if you used a lot of water in your coolant change it to 50/50 if your area gets cold.

Cold in Texas is a relative term, and I should be riding again before "winter" sets in here.
The oil was just changed about 200 miles ago, Royal Purple. would just sitting for 3 months require a change? |

You need to drain your carbs as well. If it's only a 3 month sleep, I'd leave the gas in the tank full, add Sta-Bil and ride it around your block for about 5 - 10 mins. No need to drain the carbs once the Sta-Bil makes its way through. Connect your battery to a tender. Your oil is fine to leave in if it's only 200 miles used. Save some money and unnecessary environmental waste.

don't leave your tank empty. moisture build-up can cause the inside of the tank to rust. |

If you battery is stored in a cold/cool place, I may not hold enough charge to start the bike/keep it running. Use a tender or take it in out of the cold. Nothing is harder on batteries than lack of use.

I've got a charger, I'll just charge it when I can ride again.
I think I'll go the Stabil route, I don't feel like running it dry and wasting gas. |
