Why did I buy this bike?!?!

So i wasn't planning on buying a bike. I thought, i will just take the MSF course in case i ever want to buy one, i mean it can't hurt, right? So i took the course in June and one week later i ended up buying my 2009 Ninja 250R SE with only 967 miles on it. Now, i kind of regret buying it. In no way, shape, or form do i hate the bike, i love it! And for a first bike, it is absolutely perfect. With a top speed of around 95 mph (stock) it is exactly what i wanted. I don't need to go 100+mph. I plan on keeping this bike for a long, long time. The problem arises when i start looking at parts and farkles to put on the bike. I love it too much, maybe. It is still stock, but everyday i have to keep myself from buying tons of parts for it. lol

Someday i will, but for now, i plan on doing low budget things. However, here is a list of what i eventually want to do to my bike.

Fender Eliminator (or undertail, still deciding.)
ZG Double Bubble Screen
Shogun Frame Sliders
Shogun Carbon S5 spools
Rizoma Zero-11 Turn signals
Proton Flush mounts
Tank Pad
Koso Guage
JT Front Sprocket 15T
JT Rear Sprocket (44T or 42T)
K&N Oil Filter
K&N/BMC air filter (Still undecided)
Front and Rear Stands for the bike
Rear Hugger
Rearset
Full Exhaust (Two Brothers CF or Leo Vince)
Seat Cowl
Dynojet Stage 2
Carbon fiber overlay on several parts of the bike.

This is why i need to get another job, to support my bike. Anyways, i look forward to ridin!

I supported mine by getting in an accident 3 weeks after I got the bike. Lady hit me and put 2 small marks on 2 fairing and scratched some parts I wanted to replace anyway. Her insurance paid me 1500, and only cost me about 500 to do everything I wanted to do to the bike. Not sure if you want to go that route though....lol

HAHAHA, well is a challenge every rider faces at one point in time. Make the bike yours, but don't go nuts. As much as it would be awesome, farkles and some upgrades wont raise the selling price in the future.

I'd suggest getting the frame sliders now though, just in case. The rest is just farkles.

Welcome Alex.

Go ahead and buy two of everything on your list and send me the extra! My bike is pretty much stock and it is good looking and plenty fun.

Hahaha. i know what you mean. i've spent probably too much money on my ninja. for my second bike i've been doing everything myself including doing my own bodywork. it takes muuuch longer, but is way cheaper and gives much better satisfaction. it also lets me learn much more about the bike as i do it. plus you aren't limited to what's available on the market... you simply say "i don't like that part" and fix it or rebuild it yourself. i started off not knowing much about building/metal working but i've slowly gotten knowledgeable enough in it. for example, i recently decided i didn't like the upper/under tail i had made originally so i took it off and started from 'scratch'... the new one still isn't done but already it's looking so much better (in my own eyes at least) compared to the previous one...

it's not for everyone but for those who enjoy it it's very satisfying, and very very cheap compared to aftermarket parts.

Only suggestion I have for you is to move that 15 tooth sprocket up the list to #1.

Hey. Waddya know. Another Alex. I think we need a new smiley that just says "Welcome Alex". It would save a lot of typing. LOL. Welcome to the site. You may want the rear stand as one of your first purchases. It comes in handy for maintaining your bike.
