Hello everybody!
I've been wanting to get a bike my entire life but i've always been too scared to go through with it (hearing crash stories/seeing results of crashes with people not wearing helmets in my area). But then I was talking with a few coworkers of mine (they both ride) and they basically told me its GOOD to be scared, the fear will keep you in check from doing anything stupid. I mean its not like I was going to start popping wheelies on the freeway during rush hour or anything, thats just retarded At first I was looking into the Honda CBR 600, but then I realized maybe a 600 as a 1st bike with no previous riding experience isnt such a good idea. Then I noticed people suggesting the 250r as a starter bike, they are cheaper, look like a blast to ride and supposedly insurance would be cheaper than insuring a 600. SOLD, ill take it So yeah, im not too good with introductions but I hope I can FINALLY start riding sometime before the end of this year! |

Welcome. I am from H-town area as well! And I also currently own a 250 and a CBR600RR... It goes without saying that the 600 is NOT for a noob with no experience on two wheels. Put a solid season or two on the 250 then get that sexy 600. You will be glad you did as you will be able to control the 600, and appreciate all of the power that much more than if you started on one and it was all you knew. Too many people start on a 600 and baby it forever; Learn how to wring the 250 out. Once you learn to ride the 250 fast, you will be stupid fast on the 600 (on the track, of course)
And if you haven't taken the MSF yet, check out Awesome Cycles. It is by far the best MSF destination in the Houston area Good luck on getting a Ninja soon! |
