Carb slide diaphrams
Long story short, I put a small tear in one of the carb diaphrams. Didn't want to buy an OEM replacement for $173. So I bought, from amazon, the replacement diaphrams and am having a terrible time trying to put it on the plastic slide. Any hints or am I just screwed at this point? Thanks all.

I believe it can be done. You might sent a PM to Ducatiman and see if he has some tips. Others here may have succeeded too.
Welcome to the board Chris! |

OP you've got the old diaphragm off?
Did you try after sitting in hot, soapy water...stretching?

Ya, I got the old one off. It just fits so tight in the groove that it never seems to seat inside all the way. I tried soap, just didn't soak it in hot water. I'll try that. Thanks.

I wonder if the recently mentioned tire mounting lube would help.

Well it took me 2 tries, but I finally got one on. New problem though. Afterwards, I put the finished slide in hot water with dish soap all over the area where the rubber meets the plastic. There was a small area that bubbles would form. I took it out and there appears to be a small defect in the plastic slide. It had to be there the whole time so do you think it would matter at this point? I would hate to put it back together again in vane. Thanks, all.
