Motorcyclist saves a kitten

She's not on a ninjette, but we probably shouldn't hold that against her.

This video makes me tear up a little. I love cats, i'm so glad she saved the poor little kitten. I saw this on reddit, apparently her husband came down and picked up the kitten and brought it to their house and they're going to keep it.

The video appears to depict a morning commute/ride. The other environment clues show a possible cool morning. Which leads me to guess that the kitten fell from the engine compartment of a passing vehicle. Saddly, I have seem the bail from a car or truck at 55mph. :\ It's normally not good for the animal.

Looks like it fell from the red car at around 13 seconds or so.

I can't see it after the red car, but do see it right after the pickup truck passes right behind that car. Wonder if it fell out of the bed. It does look like it has to be one of those two vehicles.

Tough call in some ways. I've stopped to help ducklings cross and even had to pull a few out of storm drains along the centre median!
However; stopping in traffic to rescue wildlife has caused many accidents including fatalities! Recently (a year or two ago) a woman stopped to rescue goslings but a father and daughter riding a bike rear ended her car. Both the father & daughter died. She was found guilty of criminal negligence.
Not saying don't ever do it just make sure you and others are safe to do it!

it is all about how safely it can be done. In this case she (rider) was already stopped, and so was traffic before she (rider) ran into the street. in the case of the fatality it was dark, and the scenario was very different.

I am glad the end result in this case was happy. It is in our nature to preserve life, but we must make wise decisions and not trade one for another.

Agreed with Snot here. If I remember the prior case accurately, the driver stopped the car in the fast lane of an expressway, just after dark, on the other side of a blind hill. Night and day difference (pardon the expression) with what this rider did while stopped at an intersection to save the kitten.

I would have titled the vid:
"Kitten disguises self as leaf, but hunter on bike, spots and catches it."

Why did they throw the kitten out of the car to begin with? I bet it pooped on the back seat. Kittens do that.

teeny kitten saved by biker girl

She thinks it's a leaf then realizes it's a teeny kitten!!!! Poor thing was really lucky to have her around. He now has a home with her and his name is Skidmark

Link to original page on YouTube.

*my bad, didn't realize this vid was like ten months old since it was on the front page of reddit, but hey, it's still adorable
