How many of you (centerstand)

Have it actually use your center stand?
Been debating to myself if I should take it off or not.

Leave it on as it's miraculously useful when you want to clean your chain, swap a sprocket, or change your oil, etc.

I never use the side stand, as I love the center one.

Take it off, see if you like it. You can always put it back on. The center stand was one of the first things to go on my pregen but I have rear stands as well.

As both a former pregen and now newgen owner I can say the two biggest changes I miss are the reserve and the centerstand.

Used it heavily due to limited storage space and during minor upkeep.

Centerstand allows me to park bike between cars in garage. Centerstand is very useful for adjusting/cleaning chain and removing rear wheel.

Someone stole mine and replaced it with a side stand! It would be more useful having a center stand then a side one.

I would love to have a center stand on mine. They're so useful for quick maintenance and storage - not to mention I wouldn't keep tripping over the rear stand every time I walk past the bike in the garage.

As with the above mentioned uses for general maintenance, I will be replacing fork seals and bushes, when the parts turn up, and the centre stand will be most useful for that.

Yea the maintenance assist with the centerstand is a plus. I got rid of the side stand and just use the centerstand.

I use mine a lot...if I didn't have one I would HAVE to find an alternate way to get the wheel/s off the ground...mainly for maintenance and cleaning..and refueling as stated above

I took mine off. I kept it and still use it for servicing. If you take it off, KEEP IT!

I never used it other than in the garage. Now I just have a rear stand. Both methods have their perks and downsides.

I use it for service and when I'm parked in the garage. I feel the bike has a smaller footprint when on the center stand and takes up less space. As a result, I can fit 2 cars and the kids wagon, stroller, etc without much fuss. Its under the bike, I dont really see it and its useful to me; I wouldn't take it off.

My 00 EX250 doesnt have one but my 06 Ninja 250 has one. The 06 is a parts bike and the center stand has been a life save when taking this bike apart. Been great to have. After everything is taken off will see if I can attach the center stand to my 00 EX250 if its possible.

and that weight is at the very bottom center of the bike...exactly where you'd want it, if it has to be there.

My first bike had a center stand, second didn't. Was so sure I NEEDED one because it really is very useful that I bought an aftermarket center stand. But you know what? I had already adapted to just the kickstand and the centerstand is still sitting in my garage 10 years later. Lol. but you know what? I lie. I didn't adapt, I bought a bike stand lift.

I use my ninja's centerstand about 2/3 of the time.

I took mine off since I have the Muzzy 2-1 exhaust. I didn't really use it as I have rearstands. I can see how it would be usefull if you had limited space or didn't own rearstands.

You need to get a forward handled rear stand. I have one of these and it is by far my favorite stand (I have two other pitbull SS rear stands).

Or you can get a stand with a removable handle.

I use my centerstand every time I get gas. seems to let a few tenths of a gallon more into the tank. If you just use your bike as a commuter I'd say leave it on

I use my centrestand ... pretty much all the time when it's in the garage. My Versys doesn't have a centre stand so I can appreciate how useful it is on the ninjette.

Unless you have a reason to take it off, then leave it on. Its far too useful to get rid of if you don't have to. When you have to work on your bike, you will be glad you left it on.

I've never had a center stand, but I'll say I've got a swing arm and I can imagine the center being useful FOR standing up the swing arm -- wouldn't have to do the game of standing the bike up off the kickstand just enough to get into the spools while petrified you're going to over do it an drop the poor ninjette.

My turbo bike is a 2001 frame. I removed the side stand to make room for the shift linkage with lower pegs. Center stand only.I did have to add a stop to mine since the stand rests on the exhaust.

One can save even more weight by removing the sidestand and leaning the bike up against a tree or building or something when parking it.

I have the pitbull (front/rear) with removable handles, love em.

If I didn't have stands, a center stand would be nice. I say keep it.

The center stand keeps the spring arm unsprung, which makes it easier to get behind the tire when you need to. I'm also not convinced that the stands are that secure with the pregen. The newgens have a place for spools to go I think.

Another thing about the center stand is that it gives twice the support of the side stand so it will hold the bike up on softer sand than the side stand will. Of course, you should always carry a plate with you to use for that purpose, but if you forgot, you can use the center stand if you have one.

A metal cover for a duplex electrical wall box works well as a sidestand plate. An aluminum can (sodapop or beer) works in a pinch

I bought a thin steel 3" diameter cover plate for 5 cents at a thrift store a long time ago. I think its something used for electrician work. Fits perfectly in my jacket pocket and is really thin so I never notice its there. Its always there when I need it.

But I still wouldn't trade my center stand for anything. Its just too handy. I've actually been wondering if it would be possible to take a pregen center stand and bolt it to a 300.
