@Hero Danny

This is feminism:

(that first definition is really the important one)

Anything else is either sexism or some form of nihilism, neither of which are good things to be. Trouble is, feminism sounds unmanly and isn't something a man typically wants to identify with. But, if you can stop being a "big man STRONG! Lift heavy stuff! Ride motorcycle!" for just a second, and stop caring about the connotation of the word, you'll realize that if you're anything close to a decent human being, you're probably a feminist, even if you're a man. I'm a male. I identify as a feminist. I don't see why more guys don't do the same.

I have been out of town and limited on here lately. .
I am a white female, I qualified for ZERO grants and/or scholarships, I am even older! I work my ass of to pay for school, I work my ass off for my family. I don't think anyone owes anybody anything. But, if you are lucky enough to use the system (that's what's its for) great.
The point others are trying to make is, you should think about what you are saying. Sometimes it is best to keep your comments and options to yourself.
As you grow up you will learn and that is what we are hear for.

Some people should really keep reading before they post, I admit I was wrong and apologized. What seems to be the problem.

And @Finesse why do you keep insulting me even after I apologized, are you trying to just continue to argue for no reason? I put my guns down. Why not put yours down too.

Yeah, feminism isn't bad, but there definitely are isolated groups of self proclaimed feminists that do give it a bad name which is why I said what I did. Regardless, it doesn't merit the response I gave.

In all honesty, I've only met a few women who identify as feminists and feel like they own the world. The vast majority of feminists are just women who want to be treated like a human being instead of being treated like a place to put your dork. But it seems like you kinda get the idea. I don't think you can blame other people for still being pissed off at you, though.

I'm a person who believes in forgiveness, and believe me it's not easy to say "I was wrong, I am sorry". Even on the internet.

It takes strength to apologize and it takes strength to forgive.

Its hard to get an accurate impression of what really goes on outside the USA. It's equally hard to admit what goes on here.
I'd bet my new shiny white V strom with ABS and a big seat that each and every one of us knows someone who is kicking the ass of...on a regular basis :
their spouse
their child
Ask a nurse at a metro emergency room, a cop or a social worker at some govt agency. Sorry friends, you cant google or you tube what goes on.

i am sorry if it offends you, but i detest anyone who is okay with heroin, crack or meth, or similar prescription narcotics like methadone or xanax. i don't care who they are, how popular they have become, or how much money they have made off of that popularity.
i don't give a **** if you drink or smoke. i don't even care if you do hallucinogens. but narcotics make you seriously insane for a long time and addictions like that seriously affect those around you. do you know how many people die from prescription drug overdoses every year? i think the number would surprise you.

Both my main relationships lasting 22 and 19 years respectively were with strong women, one was a film producer and the other an academic. (no names, no pack drill )
Neither of them uttered a meaningful feminist complaint by way of excuse, they just got on and did it. The career status they achieved on their own merits was it's own statement.
It's not that they didn't encounter chauvinists, they just overtook them and blew them into the weeds.
(also credits to an old friend Beth who despite naysayers raced in the Manx GP )

we have a president with black skin. does that mean racism isn't a thing anymore?

of course ****ing not.

there are plenty of successful, powerful women in this world. does that mean sexism isn't a thing anymore?

of course ****ing not.

the point you seem to be trying to make is that regardless of society, if you are a strong enough woman, you should be able to get what you want. i would invite you to actually talk to any of those women about the kind of prejudice they have encountered. an artist and a teacher are both extremely "socially accepted" forms of work for women. let me ask you though, how much does the teacher make compared to a man of her same tenure? if you look at statistics, chances are she makes about %20 less. for no reason whatsoever. simply because a man decided what she would make at some point. and that man had a slight prejudice. be it conscious or not.

Firstly I don't "try" to make points, I just make them.
But since you still don't get it, my 'point' is that give men anonymity and you see that the same old chauvinistic attitudes turn up.
ie they still think that stuff and all feminism has done is suppress it's open expression but not remove it.
Those attitudes no longer appear in editorial but they remain utterly dominant in the anonymous comments section meaning that societies attitudes have not changed underneath, only the veneer

I think people shouldn't look at my age as much as my demographic. I live in MA, Sure racism and sexism exist here. However, it is NOTHING like the south, My boss is a woman who makes 140k a year. Both my coworkers are not white and make exponentially more money than me.

I guess I finally found one thing good about living in this state.

i don't give a **** if you drink or smoke. i don't even care if you do hallucinogens. but narcotics make you seriously insane for a long time and addictions like that seriously affect those around you. do you know how many people die from prescription drug overdoses every year? i think the number would surprise you.
hallucinogens can affect you long after you take them if you do a lot at once. I know a guy who ****ed up with a vial of acid and poured the equivalent of 1,000 tabs into his eye. It changed him, and not really for the better.

Now I do have a question for your question, how much does that annual prescription drug overdose number decrease when you remove the cases that are related to intentional suicide?

I'm fairly confident that the male life expectancy is skewed significantly by adolescent jackassery and stress related heart conditions. Heart conditions and car accidents being leading causes of premature death would support this claim though they do affect both men and women.
