Need new radiator filler neck??
Hey guys i need to replace the radiator filler neck on my 08 250. The plastic surface where the gasket seals is damaged and that causes it to leak. I can get one at my dealer but it is backofdered for a couple months and it’s $120. Does anyone have one they’d be willing to sell or any leads where I can find one??

Bummer,
Pics, year and such is needed to help others offer what they have will go a long way here. Is it safe to assume that you are looking for 08-12 years? Depending on the damage, a new cap will seal just fine. This is where pics will help. Thanks and good luck!

Thanks for your reply. As mentioned above it’s an 08. The problem is that the filler neck is damaged and coolant can exit between the sealing surface on the filler neck and the gasket on the rad cap. I could try some epoxy but would rather fix it right. I’m not able to post a picture because I’ve temporarily “fixed” the issue by adding some gaskets on the rad cap but it took a few tries to get right but it works now and I don’t want to take it apart before I have a new part

I think radiator cap only fits on one way, at least mine does. In the other orientation, it can actually scratch off material from filler neck. Which will then cause leak. Install cap gently and don't force it if it doesn't want to spin on. Instead, remove and re-stall 180-degrees from before and see if that fits better and spins on without too much force.

I spent 4 years in the army working on and with the Patriot Missile system. My whole life revolved around reading and understanding parts diagrams, wiring schematics, and trouble shooting. That's all my brain wants to do now lol.
If anyone in the forum wants/needs help with finding parts anyone is welcome to DM me. This community is honestly awesome and I want to give back as much as I can. |
