Parking Job

So I was at work and while I was working I noticed this guy parked next to my bike. Anyone know San Diego, CA laws and if I can submit this to get him a ticket? Just because you drive an expensive BMW doesn't entitle you to park like an asshole. He is about 1/2 an inch from actually touching my bike underneath the cover.

and he probably said to himself, what idiot motorcycle rider would park their bike in the front row of a strip mall.

the guy was an idiot, but seriously, if you don't want your bike to be messed with, or people to park like this, consider NOT taking up prime customer parking spaces while you're at work, especially on a motorcycle... common courtesy.

I would not have felt bad if my bar end or pegs put a dent/scratch in his door when standing the bike upright.

No I didn't, the restaurant was busy and I had to help out my servers. I saw the middle eastern douche bag walk to his car with both his earphones on talking on his iphone 5.

Nah, he probably would have parked next to me no matter where I parked because these parking spots are tiny. One of the reasons I park right in front of my restaurant is so I can an eye on my bike just in case these things happen.

if someone in a car did that to my bike, they would be coming back to 4 flat tires.

That trick has never failed yet, ...........there is no record of offender who has relapsed into this disrespectful behavior after having to deal with four flat tires.

There is also the potato inserted into the exhaust pipe,...........but that is a story for another time.

He would never look at bikes the same way again.

You could have made more room...while you were out there taking pics, just relocate your bike to the rear of his car.

This is DEFINITELY a California thing I don't get -- The number of times I see people park like this or put their oversized SUVs in spaces CLEARLY marked 'compact' is insane.

a motorcycle parked in a lot with a cover screams "I am parking this here for a long time". Seriously, what "customer" puts a cover on a motorcycle for a half hour?

Take a back corner spot, probably next to your other co-workers, so you know they won't eff with you.

similar to driving defensively, you need to park defensively if you don't want **** like this to happen. in a parking lot, that means parking smart. It's not about what's "right" and what's "wrong", cagers feel like they're entitled to parking spots, and motorcycles aren't.

How did he do this? I mean without touching.

@dfox is right here though. As much as it's unfair, you have to move away.

No use talking to him either. Who in his right mind would buy this anyway? A truck that should drive like a car, but not really, because it's huge, and can't really be a truck, because it wants to be a sports car? These big beemers are simply stupid. Cars for huge egos, who buy them because they can, and no other reason.

Wow...thats lame and rude. I know that parking over the line is ticketable, I was a parking officer while I was in school and gave tickets for that all the time...dont know if you can submit it or not to have a ticket sent to him tho.

A parking officer? Like...someone that gives tickets specifically for bad parking? That sounds AMAZING!!

It's a lot more disappointing when it's a fellow biker.. let alone a fellow 250'er.

I knew the guy and when I confronted him, he said he got off on the back and didn't plan to be at the library (where we parked) long. Was annoying because a few days before we were talking about how annoying parking in that lot can be.

Yea. It was fun...people never realized if they were nice I would let them get away with stuff.

Theres alot of cleavage involved in the job too

And if they were a big enough jerk I would always look for their car and find a ticketable offense or just linger around. I trolled sometimes

Meh, it's not any different than coming out and finding advertisements for events and parties or various flyers stuck underneath your wiper blades. Now if you printed them on sticker paper then that might be another story :P

Don't know about CA, but when I took driver's ed (15 years ago, in UT) they taught us it was illegal to double-park, whether side to side or front to back.

oh man.. this reminds me in february i went back home to turkey for vacation. I parked in this mall and was waiting for my friend to arrive. I always give extra space to whoever may park next to me because I don't want them to hit my car. So this asshole comes in and parks in such a way that he has **** load of room to get out but the passenger side has almost none left. Wasting all the space I gave him.

Not only that he had some girl next to him. So she gets out hits my car ofcourse and doesn't even bother looking. They just go away.

I get out key the **** out of his car. I had paint chips falling on my fingers. From headlight to taillight. I just did that and went on and parked somewhere else.

Best feeling ever I tell ya.

What would you do?

Confront the guy. Face him straight on, tell him to pay for it to be repaired, etc.

You know what that would get me back where I live? Broken ribs and a f*cked up face. A car hit me once while I was crossing the street when I was 16. I was a "badass" back then. I yelled at him for it. 3 guys stepped out of the car and threatened to beat me up.

Yep. Good times

Maybe I go to the cops next time?

Oh right. Once a taxi driver smashed into me head on. He was headed in the wrong direction onto oncoming lane. A cop saw the whole thing. Taxi driver put it in reverse and started running. I looked at the cop. I had a WTF expression. Cop asks me "why aren't you chasing him?".

Yeah.. So maybe asshole cards and "hey dude pay for the damages" works in here. Not back home
