zx6r issues
hey guys, i have an 01 zx6r with a yoshimura rs3 full exhaust, dynojet kit, and k&n air filter. completely stock other than that. when i got the bike, it misfired at 6k+ rpm, and the starter turned over slow every now and then, so i replaced the battery.(no change) and then i also replaced the spark plugs, and that made it run perfectly for 2 days, and then it started missing again, and now it has gotten worse to the point that it will misfire and wont accelerate no matter how far i pull the throttle. i thought it could be the ram air ducts becasue it didnt have clamps on it where it goes to the air box, so i put some on, and pulled the coils, and tested them for resistance and got 2 ohms on all 4. put it all back together, and it didnt fix anything. is it possible that with no clamps on the ram air duct it caused it to run rich and fouled the plugs again, or could it be that the cdi is going bad? im tired of breaking down, and last night i had to leave the bike in a bad part of town:/ any ideas?

Don't think it is the CDI yet, did you check both primary and secondary of the coil?

Well, there are 2 wires going into the coil and one going out (to plug). I assume you tested the 2 inputs, what about the output (plug side)? You should get somewhere around 14k-20k ohms.

Yes I tested the 2 inputs. How would I test the output to the plugs?

just for future reference in case anyone needs the specs of the coils on a 2000-2002 zx6r/2005-2008 zzr600
Stick Coil:Primary Winding Resistance 1.2 ∼ 1.6 Ω Secondary Winding Resistance 8.5 ∼ 11.5 kΩ

You should pull the plugs before doing anything seriously really, that will give you a pretty good idea of state of tune. What about your carbs? You have 4 complex high performance carburetors there's a lot of ways they could get clogged up or something.
