Alex.s saved my butt

Pucker factor day... Waved to another bike, and over cooked a turn. Had to run off through the grass, almost locked it up once or twice, lost traction, felt the front wanting to wash out, the back wanted to get a lil squirrelly. Right before I panicked, like last second "dude the bike can handle it", and Alex.s story of how to run off the track hit my mind, and I just relaxed and let the bike handle its buisness while I tried to as smoothly as possible handle mine. Like seriously right at the panic second... Tires were locking up, bike was gonna wash or jump into a gully (the gully follows the road, and isn't shallow). Wet grass is no fun on a 55 mph road... Who goes the speed limit in the country with a clear road???
So read the stories... Learn all you can... Be smooth!!!

So yea ran through wet grass at speed, almost dumped the 300 in a gully, slid tires in wet grass, relaxed, loosened up, let the bike do its thing, while I remained calm and tried to be smooth as possible... Gladly it all worked out

i do want to say though, willfully running off the road on street is the worst idea you could have. its better to slide on some asphalt than it is to hit some rut or hole that you don't see, or worse yet hit a big tree or wall which is more likely. running off on the track is what makes the track such a fantastic thing. 95% of the time you cannot do that on the street and it is not an option

It wasnt willful. no trees just a gully. it really wasnt a bad place to run off unless ya lost it into the gully. Did I leave out the part where I realized I was going off the road at the edge of the road? I'm pretty sure I wasn't lookin where I was going thinkin back on it.
If I tried to jerk it back on the pavement it woulda washed out for sure.

Hmm, yeah, he calls me a name or two.

And, well, burst into flames may be a bit over the top, but he does make me a hot at times. Is that what you're asking?

Haha ummm no... I only see him around the forum and he always has colorful names to call folks and tells folks things will burst into flames or explode. Maybe I was calling myself a dumbass and other colorful names, but I def heard the voice of James earl jones telling me alex tale on how to safely run off through the grass and I'm pretty sure there was cursing and thoughts of fires and explosions.
If you hear him talkin that sort of thing while your riding, how do you not get distracted? Hehe
