I'd prefer it if everyone was on a ninjette but I'll be on either my Beemer or the FJR

So you want to be the only big bike

I just realized I got the date wrong so I'm not bringing anyone and you will still be surrounded by all Ninjettes.

Maybe I'm in for sure. There is dirt track racing in Sacramento this saturday but my "team" is bailing andl'm losing motivation to convert the 150 for a class it'll struggle in. @anacron is your foot and bike going to be back in time? We can take twisties all the way there. @iceknyght we can meet up and leave from our area and get a super long ride in.

Group rides only start out mellow. They usually end in a different manner.

@CycleCam303 Foot is fine. The dealership is waiting for fairing parts to be delivered but I have the bike at home with me and can ride.

I'm trying to decide whether I want to go to this MGR or to take my bicycle and ride up to Grizzly Peak with a few friends...

Just got back home from the ride. It was great! There 7 of us with Sean on his Bimmer and his dad on his FJR and 5 of us of our mix of new-gens and pregens. The roads around Uvas were beautiful ,in good condition and traffic wasn't too bad. Mostly sweeping curves with a few tight corners. I hadn't ridden this route before but its definitely worth a return trip. Everything went great except for me dumping my bike when we pulled off onto a gritty shoulder to regroup. I stopped a bit too hard, went into a small slide , almost recovered but didn't and fell over on the right side. Total damage was some embarassment and a broken right turn signal stalk.

After completing the Uvas loop we went for lunch at Mojo Burgers and visited for a while. It was great to meet and ride with such interesting and nice people.

You too had an accident, Inderveer? You must have hit a huge pothole?

Bottoming out =/= accident Just reached the limits of the wimpy suspension.

I hear what you are saying... still somewhat of an accident. Look what it did to his rear end... smashed the indicator light, cracked the rear fairing and folded his license plate!

Luckily, he didn't hit the floor!

I'd just call it ****** suspension is ******, not really an accident lol. Commonly happens on lowered bikes too.

No issues for me today and I had a good time.

It was partially my fault for putting that metal piece further back than it should have been lol. It was a fat pothole though so you never know..it could have been worse. Oh and the license plate was already bent lol. You can check that out on my fender elim. thread..

That was like the five millionth time I reached that limit lol. Now y'all know why I want an overhaul, but the 17 off the new gen would be an issue too then, no?

Definitely an issue if you don't upgrade that suspension first.

Ride organizers have a tendency to set up rides around the area they're from and Jiggles isn't an East Bay resident

Get a small group together and pick a starting route. I know most if not all the fun roads @rasta in your area. Just depends where you want to end up at or what loop you are looking at doing.

I don't believe that I'm a good ride leader. Small groups of 4 or 5 peeps make it not qualify as a "group" ride for me. My rules are too casual for most too. 1. Don't crash 2. Don't crash 3. If one of us gets pulled over we'll be waiting at a meet point FAR away.

Maybe a Palomares and Calaveras ride? Those should be fairly newbie-friendly.

I'd be hesitant to try Pinehurst/Redwood with a group ride, I noticed a lot of dirt and gravel on Pinehurst and lots of new tar snakes on Redwood.

I'd also highly recommend riding Pinehurst/Redwood by yourself before stepping up to a group ride.

Calaveras is not newbie friendly. Redwood is. Just don't go onto Pinehurst; ride it to Skyline, then turn around.

I haven't ridden calaveras in a while. It's got mostly blind very tight corners with barely any room for two cars to go buy. It's like a slice of Europe except dirtier.

But Rebecca pinehurst is fun. It's the only place where I can breathe down supersports', supercars', and motards' necks

Well he was talking about newbies haha. I wouldn't recommend a newbie ride onto Pinehurst

Hmm... I thought we rode calaveras that one day. Maybe that was palomares and we skipped out on calaveras.

I backed off a little bit on Pinehurst after I dumped my bike (its been really dirty lately too). Might have to go for a spirited ride and test out the preload setting I'm using.
