Wink new to ninjettes, not to bikes

hey. i've been riding in oregon (and beyond) regularly for 17 years. have a little bit of track time racing and track days at PIR. I've had an old honda hawk 450, yamaha radian 600, suzuki bandit 1200, honda vfr 750, yamaha xs 360. I lived in Malaysia for 15 months and saw so many people having fun on small bore bikes or just using them for daily transport of course. i rented bikes in different places around malaysia and laos. they were always 250 or less and I still had a blast. i've always owned bigger bikes but i think they are just another symbol of the overconsumption of the US culture. granted, a 250 can never give me the feeling of hard acceleration rolling on out of a corner on the edge of breaking the rear loose that i love so much. but life is full of compromises isn't it? when i moved back from malaysia to oregon last month, i was determined to by a small bike and I was the proud owner of a silver 2007 ex250f the next day. it had only 1061 miles on it. hopefully someone just finished breaking it in nicely for me Unfortunately I crashed it the first weekend on a ride to mt. st. helens. it was on a hard left hairpin with 15 mph recommended speed posted. we had just stopped for a 20 min break so those crappy stock tires that had sit for 3 years hardening which had never seen the pavement on that part of the contact patch just didn't hang on to that moist shaded stretch of the road that morning. D'oh! My bad for riding it like it was a supersport bike. But it crashed very well and my aerostich protected me completely. i rode the tar out of it the rest of the day anyway, almost keeping up with my friend on the superhawk and leaving the multistrada, fx6 and 650 vstrom in the dust. i glued the turn signal lens back on and she's almost as good as new except for some scratches. i bought her sans front fender so i'm on here looking for a silver, black, or red front fender. look forward to lots of exchanges on here. l8r
