Held Gloves are the best - Crash Tested

Gloves were crashed in...what...5 or 6 times, and not once have the seams ripped apart as you can see.

Lowside, highside, buttslide...you call it, I've done it.

Wish my body/bones would hold up just as good.

The use of kelvar, sting ray, and kangaroo material is what makes these gloves awesome. But it doesn't just stop there. Their decision to use double layers in the palm area saved my palm from seeing red. See pic.

I've crashed in Dainese's high-end gloves ($400+) and several other brands and the palm area would instantly disintegrate the moment it touched the ground, leaving a real bad road rash if not a hole in my palm.

They may be a bit pricey but DEFINITELY worth every penny. As mentioned above, I've spent hundreds of dollars on Dainese high-end gloves only to discover they're made as a one-time crash type gloves. If I'm spending hundreds of dollars of mine hard earned money I expect gear to last more than one crash IMHO. And the Held gloves do just that!

I cannot recommend Held gloves enough to everyone. They are, IMHO and experience, THE BEST GLOVES on the market.

How the Titans - their top of the line model (not the Phantoms which is pictured above) - are made:

I have a pair myself and love them. After seeing them crashed from Sportbiketrackgear.com (Brian Van), that pretty much sold me. Not to mention they feel awesome. I got them during the big closeout.

Alpinestars gloves = worthless. But their Supertechs are the shizzle.

Granted those gloves are low-end and I don't recommend anyone buying low end gloves.

This pic cracks me up every time I see it. If you got the gloves thinking they protect you then you may as well had gotten mechanic gloves.

Right?!!! LOL

I say the same thing about mesh gloves. And the excuses people give are hilarious..."My hands get hot in the summer."

Yeah, it'll get even hotter when they touch ground.

The sad part is they look like the same gloves I had used when I started doing down hill boarding. I took a chunk out of my hand falling at around 15mph.

The A* Supertechs are boots, bro.

The A* GP Plus are notorious for seams coming undone. You should see all the complaints about them.

I have, they held up just fine, no seam issues on mine. The only thing is the damn plastic finger guards near the finger tips. They ARE going to smash your finger, thought about grinding them off. Still might, dunno. And yea, I still wear them.

Need pics lemme know.

I own these Alpinestar Gloves and they are not very good: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...on-Gloves.aspx . I don't recommend them for anyone.

At 300 street miles they began to rip, and look at them now. Holes and frizzing:

@ChickenRun I have the same gloves with almost 800 miles on them, and have had no problems with them at all. No holes, no seams coming undone, etc.

@Driddle I'm just giving a warning, the ratings on motorcycle superstore are also mixed. Some say they're great, others say they've practically disintegrated. Guess I just got one of the bad ones.

Edit: I think the wear and tear might be because of the climate. I live in Florida where it's much more humid than Cali.

Im not trying to be a dick but you seem to have something negative to say to a lot of my posts lately.

I'm also going to say I hope I never crash at 40+. And I'm not sure why you would want to make a bet like that.

Sorry you think I am trying to be negative when I tell you your gloves are **** and wont stand up in a crash. Not saying you are going to crash I am saying if you did crash and you land on your hands you are going to be hating life. Plus then I get a free pair of gloves

Just added a vid of how the Held gloves are made. Sorry...I hate nor do I know how to use the youtube vid thingy so I just linked it.

FYI - I am in no way affiliated with Held though I tried to get sponsored by them but they only sponsor WERA racers (hmm...maybe I should race with WERA...haha). I just wanted to share and encourage you guys to buy one because we just can't skimp out on protection.

I'be got Held R7 Gloves. The only piece of gear that I haven't replaced or thought about replacing since I started riding almost 2 years ago.

Sun or Rain, they're absolutely fantastic. I don't know when these will ever be worn out (a bit of care now and then and they look like new), but I'll be replacing them with another set from Held for sure!

They also make other gear apparently, I've seen an ad for Jackets somewhere but didn't find any store that carries them yet.

Have you ever had a problem with your thumb cramping up at the base by your hand? I have a pair of Titans and love them aside from that problem. If I use them to go back and forth to work, by the end of the week my hand feels like how I would imagine carpal tunnel feels. Switch back to my Taichis and it goes away after a few days.

@Nemesis You have the most experience crash testing the phantom I's that I am aware of. Do you have an opinion about how they compare to the phantom II?

I'm actually going to pick one up. The thing about the Phantom IIs is that they don't have any half sizes past 7.5. This is what I've found out from research.

Yikes! I have these:

I hope they'll do fine. I never really liked the textile mix, nor do I remember why I chose that particular pair.

sportbiketrackgear shows that they have size 8.5 and 9.5 now. They may have been delivered late.
