Fluid Leak After Drop
Yesterday, I dropped my bike on the left side in front of my garage. I was being an idiot and rushing to get somewhere because I was late and was switching out my bike with my car. I somehow forgot to put down my kick stand and tried to get off the bike. Obviously that didn't work and the bike tipped over. Damage was very minimal, but I did notice some fluid leak from the center of the bike when it was tipped over. Unfortunately I had no time to investigate and I just gave the bike a quick look over and had to run out the door. I'll need to go back home tonight and take a look, but wanted see what you guys thought the leak might be. Can that be the engine oil? I did recently do an oil change, but not sure where the leak would of come from. Anything else you guys can think of?

Check and see what the fluid actually is. Since it was on its side, it's most likely fuel or antifreeze from the overflow hoses, which is no problem.

Probably just some fuel from the tank overflow hose. Was the fluid still there when you returned?

Unfortunately it was raining on tuesday so it cleared up whatever was leaking. But I didn't see any new leaks in the garage from the bike, so I'm now fairly sure it was just the overflow valve. I did check all of my fluid levels just in case and everything looks good.

dropped bike
hey guys
so i did this exact same thing. i was in a rush and not thinking, kick stand popped back up as i was leaning the bike over. dropped it with only a few minor scratches to the decal and a bent shift lever. the lever is easy enough to fix. however, i noticed the same fluid leak from the center of the bike. it's been at least a month and a half since that happened with no problems. bike has run fine since then. however it's been cold and i've not been riding it for a month or so. i noticed today that the leak is back. the fluid looks green. it's been fairly cold lately. any ideas as to what it might be coming from? i'm new the motorcycle world so anything helps. |

Welcome Jared!
Green = coolant. Check coolant level and watch for overflow drainage.
