Interesting approach, but I'd rather use a dedicated dual sport or dirt bike if I'm planning on riding enough dirt to do a conversion like that.

But why?

You have a heavy weak POS with terrible suspension, poor gearing, and ergo's for getting dirty. That thing wouldn't last a day in the dirt with me before I broke the frame in half and or destroyed the front forks.

Get a used 125 2stroke MX bike for $1k or less ride it till it blows up or seizes then get another, wash rinse repeat.

I approve.
I really want a scrambler and I think that I would try to do something like this if I had to rebuild the ninja. For my use, 95% onroad, and then the ability to do 5% on dirt/gravel roads. I dont have the need for hardcore dirtbike but I do live in the country and have a gravel drive and also the opportunity to hit some light trails.
