My 250 Pregen Reborn and Custom Graphics

So as some of you may know, last 4th of July, a drunk friend of mine got on my 250 without permission and wrecked it (and himself). I won't get much into that, but long story short, my beautiful, neat mint black 250 was never the same. He ripped the mirror off, foot pegs (both) off, destroyed my bar ends, broke out the sight glass, dented the tank, and demolished the side of my upper fairing.

I pretty much said it was done.

I was going to just rage on it and throw out all of the fairings and attempt a street fighter, but it really was more out of desperation. I tried spot fixing and repainting the exhaust a million times, and at every turn, I just hated it more and more. I simply wanted a different bike, but I couldn't... I STILL owe money for it...

Long story short, and many hours later, after working up a lot of courage and doing all the work alone (this is all new to me too), I've rebuilt her. I used online tips, lessons, guides, and so on to do the following.

Jetted
Cleaned the carbs/airbox
checked/fixed all of the cables/wires
fiberglassed the damage
filled/sanded the pits/cracks
sanded and painted the entire bike, head to toe
removed the front fender
removed the mirrors
added new side marker lights, bar ends, levers, and pegs
new 2 to 1 Muzzy exhaust (found barely used for $100)
custom doodle art

It's not 100% done, and while it's not super perfect, it's... Damn close. We couldn't find a single run, peel, or pit in the paint, and the patchwork is as good as I'm getting for doing it myself. I still need to rewire my tail lights, put, my plate back on, and compound polish the whole bike for it's ultimate shine.

Thoughts?

*before (wasn't she pretty? *cries*)

*after

Actually I'm currently looking for a stock or double bubble clean one to replace it. Those were put on there because of a huge deep scratch that was on it from the wreck.

Thanks! I tried looking him up and couldn't find him. I'm curious to see his ride!

Well I'm working on what to do for mirrors. Might just go with small bar-end style ones. I was also considering modifying the front fender to look a little more aggressive, but I don't want to ruin it either.

I have bar end mirrors and love them, also got some block off plates (chrome) to match.

You can kinda see the bar ends, I really like them, but they are cheap and are cracked in the housing. THey still work, but I'd like to have better ones. They are convex, making things behind me seem clearer, and closer, which I like. The regular circular ones are just regular mirrors and make things seem small in the mirrors. thats my honest opinion.

Oh those look really useful. I'll have to look for a set like that. Where did you manage to find those plates to cover your mirror holes? I've been looking for something like that for a long time now.

Those were the cheapest I could find. $12 sounds MUCH more reasonable.

Mekkakat that looks great!!

How does everyone keep finding Muzzy systems for so cheap??? I would love to get one!! I would just have to take off my center stand and install it when I need it, and take it off again once I'm done.

Hey thanks man! And yeah, I really did seriously luck out. I had been looking for months and months to no avail, then boom - "parts bike for sale".

Very nice.

I like the decal...reminds me of a tramp stamp on the back of Alex.s' lower back. Don't ask me how I know.

I love the direction of your design. Is the graphic work done or is there more to come?

I might still do a lines coming off the main fairing, or even on the flat part that faces up on the top of the upper fairing.
