New Bike for the Riding Season

Spring is here and I'm thinking of getting a new bike (well new to me) for the riding season this year. I want to head out on the open road and try to meet and stay with as many of the forum members as possible (before winter sets in). I figure I can ride up until October then head home for the winter hibernation.

Since I'll be on the road for months I'd like to get a bigger bike so I can take a few things with me. I'm looking for a Honda Zune. They seem big enough, light enough, handle better than the 300, and can pull a 5th (or 3rd) wheel trailer.

Anyone have any input on these bikes? I know they are 6 cylinder 1800cc race bike with gorgeous styling but are there any problems I need to know about? I mean do they burn up the rear tire everytime you gas the bitch or do they scape parts when sliding through a tight turn? Do they have to power to pull a trailer at highway speed? Are they really as cool as they look? Are they a easy to ride as they look?

I'm looking for a mint used one of anyone knows of a Zune in their area.

I haven't ridden the Zune but my cousin had a Valkyrie which became the Zune. That bike would not win many races against modern sport bikes in the 1/4 mile but it had crazy power! I was on my Yamaha FZR750 and my cousin was next to me at 45 mph, he hit the throttle and I could not catch him. They are a bit heavy (compared to a sport bike) because of the 6 cyl and cruiser styling but handle well for a cruiser and are way comfortable. The Valkyrie had ok ground clearance but you would never touch your knee down if you know what I mean. The Zune has the same basic engine as the Valkyrie with better out put of power so pulling a trailor will not be any kind of an issue. The power delivery is pretty smooth so unless you are hitting full throttle in heavy downpour rain or on sand there should be no tire scorching issues and acceleration will be impressive just not record breaking. Beautiful bike and it was originally based on a stripped down Goldwing so longevity and reliability should be typical Honda (read as REALLY GOOD). Good luck with your planned trip and I hope we get to ride together when you get up to New England! I will buy you a

I did see a couple Valkyrie's pulling smoke shows and it was pretty cool.

That's one sweeeeeeet bike. They look so easy to ride that they probably ride themselves.
