My Baby got teased today :(

I was at a old friends house and someone was there who's dad has a bike, not them, and they were saying a 250 is too small (his dad has a 1800 which his dad lets him drive) and saying that he couldn't do it and would only ride 600 or bigger and then made fun of my gear saying that he never wares all that stuff (pants, jacket, gloves) and was going on and on..i was pissed..but didnt say anything. He was talking about how he does wheelies and goes all out on the road. and i just laughed and kept to my self. The friend i was there visiting wants a ninja 250 to now. He backed me up and said he would get all the gear to. But im not going to argue with anyone. I know what my ninja can do and love it the way it is.

I just don't get people who give crap about wearing safety gear. It's like making fun of someone for wearing their seatbelt. In what universe does that make them cooler?

Just look at it this way; you like the bike that you ride, and he likes the bike that he rides. You're both riders. Enjoy what you have in common.

no matter what bike you buy, there's always going to be someone who feels that there's something better. A 250 is a joke next to a 600 is NOTHING compared to a 1000 is a pussy bike compared to a 1400 etc etc blah blah blah

whatever. Enjoy your bike. Who cares what people think? In the end it's you on your bike, not them.

It's weird... I'm 6'1" and 200 lbs and nobody ever says anything but nice things about my bike.

I think it's more about the rider than the bike. Tell them to pound sand and be proud of your bike. You can make your bike cool - not the other way around.

That guy sounded like a right pillock.

Just smile and walk away (walking away, being something the other guy probably wont be able to do for very long if he keeps his current attitude).

I have a buddy with an r6, wears no gear except the mandatory helmet. He always makes fun of me (in a friendly way; I do it right back) for wearing almost full gear every time I ride. I tell him I like my skin where it is.

I love the full gear so much. It was just pissing down with rain outside, but I remained completely dry inside my gear. I was nice and snug and warm too! I've ridden with less than full gear a few times and I actually got a bit of a kick out of it: I felt even more as if I was just floating through the air. I wont make a habit of it though; I too "like my skin where it is".

Ditto a big part of why I wear my gear is to protect from crap hitting me while I'm riding. Let me tell you, hearing the crack a bumblebee makes when it hits my visor at 60mph, I am glad I'm in armor.

Do they even make an 1800cc sport bike...? The only 1800cc bikes I can think of are the honda VTX line of cruisers, and I'd say he has some talent of he can wheelie one of those monsters lol. People never hate on my bike and if I really needed to prove something to them all I'd need is 1st gear and a stop light I doubt I'd race anyone to prove my bikes not a pussy bike, their opinions don't mean anything to me when they sputter their mouths about something they know nothing about.

1800cc sport bike? No, but there are 1800cc and higher cruisers from various manufacturers including several 1700cc cruisers and a 2000cc vulcan cruiser from Kawasaki. I agree, good luck getting those hefty front ends up in the air. It can be done, but I wouldn't want to be the one doing it. Besides it sounds more like this guy is just one of those that likes to run his mouth and brag at how big his brass nuts are w/o every really doing any of the crap they spew.

I've met people like that and just learned to tune them out. Like a guy I once met that told a great story of how him and his friends stuffed a Viper racing motor with it's "10-speed transmission" into a little Ford fiesta. Then goes on to tell how they were messing with people doing about 70mph+ down the road going in reverse. Yah just gotta love the b/s people can come up with.

He says he wheelies and "goes all out" on a cruiser? I would have asked him to put his money where his mouth is and see it. (make sure you video it as well). Just sounds like a punk running his mouth. A+ for you gearing up.

Whenever someone brings up how small the 250 is, I just bring up fuel economy and price of bike and insurance.

They showed me a pic, it was all custom and it was barely recognizable. It looked nice but i know it was not his. So i just shrugged it off

Agreed! But Leo said that the tool was riding his daddy's bike, so it's easy to brag when daddy pays for your bike...and gas...and insurance. Since the guy is not wearing full gear, I'd just introduce right boot to left testicle and say, "Aw shucks...if you were wearing all your gear you'd still have a matching set..."

But at least you're making your own way while he lives off of daddy from the sounds of it. And if he's the kind of guy that would get all defensive and start a fight for calling him out on the fact that it's daddy's bike, then that again shows how much of a child he is. I say try to never hang out with him and try to encourage your other friend away from him because he's nothing but a bad influence that will do little more than talk s**t and cause trouble.
