I was thinking of leaving earlier than that... it takes almost 2 hours to get there as it is... if we didn't leave til 9 we wouldn't get there until 11... days half over by then

Ill be there saturday only. i have to work on sunday. I have to stop at a shop on the way, i need new front brake pads. i should be there around 9 or 10. I will be bringing one stand with me and i dont think i need to use one for what i need to do. Ken did you get me some water wetter or do i need to pick some up.

It was awesome seeing everyone and meeting some new people. Thanks to Crissy & Ken for hosting.
Delicious food from Crissy "as usual," according to the guys. I believe them.
Seeing everyone, except me, rocking a modded 250R really has me tempted to buy, buy, BUY! But saner minds prevail (a.k.a the voice of reason. . . a.k.a the significant other)

If any of you other folks took pics, please post them up!
Thanks to Gurk for giving me the shorty levers. I appreciate that, man!

Lastly, to anyone else in the Southern California region, be sure to check the Group Rides and Local Events sub-forum because there are Tech Days every so often, and you'll learn a lot about the Ninja from these good group of guys and gals.

thank you so much for hosting ken and crissy! as always it was a great time, and DELICIOUS food!
honestly, now i find normal TV boring without an axe going through a helmet.

yes, it wouldn't be a so-cal meetup without me pushing someones bike... 3 miles this time on the side of the freeway to the nearest gas station. a french(?) guy on an st sprint 1200 stopped but wouldn't give me a ride since he was going in the opposite direction, and a sheriff stopped... neither had gas and surprisingly the cop wouldn't give me a ride lol. said it was fine for me to push it though so i kept pushing. unfortunately i took the rubber tube out of my backpack a few weeks ago thinking i knew how to manage my gas... tube is going back in the backpack.

also, i wheelied the **** out of kevins zx by accident. love you honey badger.

oh also, max likes men.

So as mentioned my ride up with alex, didn't happen... poor alex... had a great time hanging out all day and helping here and there where needed... sorry we didn't get farther on your clip-ons Max... but once you guys started messing with brakes... I had no idea how to help there

Food was awesome... glad I actually got to eat this time... no weigh in on Monday morning

Thanks for hosting Ken and Chrissy... you guys as usual are freakin' awesome!!! I don't mind the long ride out there (especially since 74 is pretty fun

)

Ride home was a good time... I think next time I need to remember my glasses and maybe a clear visor for my helmet as well

I also had a great time and so much thanks to Ken and Crissy for hosting. I heard about the legendary food and had to come to this one and so worth it. So many quotable moments today! And where else can we see an axe and a sledgehammer take out a seemingly indestructible helmet.

74 was definitely a much runner ride once I figured the secret of high beams. Being only able to see 20 ft ahead and looking into complete darkness in turns was downright scary at first.

Damn! Those are some pretty good deals on those bikes, except I think that 1999 R1 is a bit overpriced. I know someone with an '02 R1. He paid $2500 OTD for it. No drops, scratches, etc, when he bought it. Now it's pretty rashed and trashed from his various crashes. Squids...

Max, how are the brakes going so far? I personally think its because you're lacking the washers/bolts the kit should come with so you're not getting an airtight seal. Washers are generally one time use for brake lines, but maybe you can boil the stock washers so they might expand? Hopefully a motorcycle shop may be open where you can purchase bolts/washers or you might have to put the stock line back. Let us know how it works out.

PS Kevin, I think Max purposely disabled his bike so he can ride pillion with you...

I personally think its because you're lacking the washers/bolts the kit should come with so you're not getting an airtight seal. Washers are generally one time use for brake lines, but maybe you can boil the stock washers so they might expand? Hopefully a motorcycle shop may be open where you can purchase bolts/washers or you might have to put the stock line back. Let us know how it works out. PS Kevin, I think Max purposely disabled his bike so he can ride pillion with you...
