Man's garage door opener
This demo is on a BMW. I don't know if it works on other makes?
For some of us, I believe this application could prove difficult and costly to install, but the application appears to run smoothly. |

Seems a bit high maintenance, need to get at least a 8+ year old model to do any good, and they'll start developing issues soon after.
Might go easier if you import one from China or somewhere... Although those might have reliability issues of their own and there might be laws prohibiting their use.... |

I must have gotten the wrong model. I wonder what the restocking fee would be on an exchange.

I hear that ordering these garage door openers is very difficult if you don't already have the parts to make it with:
First, you have to order it. Second, there is at least a 9 month waiting period. Third, it takes at least 8-10 years to train the opener to operate properly. Finally, it still may not open the door for you because sometimes it has a mind of it's own!

I've heard of reliability problems with some models. They can loose their programming, or get randomly re-prioritized, with no warning. Efforts to refresh their programming aren't always successful.
They're sometimes subject to virus infections and other maintenance issues as well. I've heard there might be legal issues, maybe they're pirated or ???

I have an upgraded version that I use as a washing machine and dishwasher, but it also has the capability to replicate new models whenever I want.
