Sorry, my bad... I misunderstood what you said... I thought you meant the total prizes were worth 11,500... Lol

Yeah, it's a great use of white and black together.... a great mix of sporty and classy.

I admit at first I didn't like the design of the new slats on the side fairings, but they are growing on me. I think it takes a while to get used to how current models are "supposed" to look. One design feature I really do miss, which I don't think is present any longer on any current sport bike, is the part of the nose fairing that used to frame the windshield (like the A pillar on a car).

OK, so I'm watching the videos they have on here: http://ninja300.kawasaki.com/Gallery and it actually sounds more like a sportbike!! However, I have a suspicion that they dubbed those sounds in from something else or altered them.

Another observation is that they do mention an ABS version in those videos and they show the same Lime Green/Black special edition with ABS in the gallery. I hope that doesn't mean that it will be the only color they offer in ABS. I would be so pissed since that is my least favorite color.

Isn't this exactly the same bike, except a bigger engine, that everyone was going crazy for not long ago?

Why the hate?

Curb weight is with all fluids, ready to go. And dry weight is without any fluids; just the bike. Correct?

So the 2012 bike is 374lbs dry, and the 2013 bike is 379 lbs curb weight. Somebody went on a diet

Sooo it's pretty much the 250 released in other markets but with a 300 engine?
At least that's what it looks like cosmetically?

I read that MCN took it on the Autobahn and it indicated 112(We know that its somewhat off), but they said they thought it might be capable for 120.

Thoughts?

The 2008-2012 spec sheet is wrong. It should have said curb weight instead of dry weight. So, 2013 is only 5 lbs HEAVIER

HA! Kawasaki made an oops in their photo gallery for the 300. This is the new ZX6R 636, not the 300, and it was in the photo gallery for the 300.

FINALIST NOTIFICATION AND EVENT: The five finalists will be notified on September 13, 2012 at approximately 6:00 pm ET via text and/or phone call to the telephone number used to enter by text. In the event that any of the five potential finalists entered online via an on-site tablet computer, these finalists will be contacted via the PA system at the location. Potential finalists must arrive at the podium within five minutes of the notification via text/email/phone call/posting. If a finalist does not arrive at the stage within five minutes of the notification for any reason, that finalist will be disqualified and an alternate finalist will be randomly selected from among all remaining eligible entries and notified via the same methods described above. Sponsor will make up to two attempts to replace a finalist who is not present and then will proceed with the finalist event with the finalist who are present (assuming there are at least two Finalists present). Finalists must be present to participate and have the chance to win a prize. The up to five verified finalists will each have a chance to pick one of five keys that could start either of the two motorcycles which will occur at approximately 7 pm ET. The order by which the finalists will choose the keys will coincide with the order in which they checked in at the podium. Only two keys out of the five will start the motorcycles. The finalist who picks the key that starts one of the motorcycles wins that motorcycle, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. Winners will be notified about prize delivery logistics at a time to be determined by Sponsor.

Yea -- the 2013 250/300 styling is the same

They're releasing the 300 in US/Canada/Europe and maybe some parts of Asia

Some parts of Asia (like Indonesia where they alrdy released the 2013 250) will only get the 250 due to local regulations which make it much more expensive to own a 250+cc bike

OK, if you check out this article: http://www.ultimatemotorcycling.com/...ja-300-preview it gives the full pricing/color options.

It appears for now that they are going with white and black for $4800, special edition green/black for $5000, and special edition green/black AGAIN for their ABS model for $5500. All I can say is... damn it, no red... I'm not buying green. What to do?

Another Indy rider! Where side of town are you on?

As for the color, just give it time, you'll want nothing more than green before too long.

Nice... I'm on the north side.

But but... all my gear is white/red. I'll look like a Christmas themed misfit on a green bike.
