Question Shifter "bent"?

Looking down from the top to the shifter, it seems the end is bent. Is this by design or has something happened? Pix attached.

TIA

Happens easily when the bike is laid down on that side. A box end wrench can slip over the rubber part and provides a nice "handle" to bend it back.

Thanks, everyone. I'll fix this tomorrow.

The bike has no other evidence of being down on that side. However, on the RH fairing, when I stripped it to do the jet change, the turn signal housing on the inside of the fairing has a pretty extensive plastique repair that is not visible from the outside at all. Seems like a quality repair. I assume the bike fell over on the RH side and popped the turns mount loose.

How did you end up fixing it? My shifter is bent exactly like how yours was.
