Your character is defined by how hard you can fall and still get back up. - csmith12

The use of the term "fall" here is not in the sense of crashing motos. EDIT: Well... maybe it can apply to crashing too.

Why would one ever choose to indulge in rage? It doesn't nothing good for one's spirit. It accomplishes feelings of bitterness, increased blood pressure, anxiety, and all-around negative feelings for the rager and the one who is (often innocently) being raged against. Ragers tend to have difficulty keeping healthy relationships. I've never understood rage.

Because it's better than going to jail. Uncontrolled rage is just plain chaos but controlled rage is unstoppable. Have something bad enough happen and "IF"... you can control the rage, you will feel like you can run through a brick wall or... endure injury that would normally incapacitate a horse.

I think you may be confusing hate with rage. They are very different, fundamentally... hate is premeditated, a choice, and may linger for a long time, where rage is spontaneous in origin and normally will pass.

I could be. I think I differentiate between anger and rage as referenced in the quote. Made it sound like a verb when comparing it to love.

The lies we tell other people are not as detrimental as the lies we repeat to ourselves.
Sometimes we lie to ourselves so much that we actually start believing it.
But it is when we lie to ourselves that we find true sorrow in an endless pit of mistrust.
Not being honest with your own feelings --even in an attempt to keep others from hurting-- can lead only to repeated mistruths and hurt feelings.
If you can't be honest with yourself, who can you be honest with?
if you can't trust yourself, who can you trust?

I heard this at TKD class last night. I wish I knew who originally said this, because I wanna talk with them at length.

It kinda sounds like a Bruce Lee quote but I googled and couldn't find it to his credit.

Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want. ~Margaret Young

If you search the world for happiness, you may find it in the end, for the world is round and will lead you back to your door. ~Robert Brault,
