The GoPro Tape Trick

Do you own a GoPro? Do you attach that GoPro to your motorcycle? Does your video look like it was filmed by Michael J. Fox? Well, that is because you're an idiot, but don't worry, there is a cure. For the small price of what it costs to feed a starving child in Africa, you can instead buy some tape and put it on your GoPro mount. Simply put the tape on the base mount so that it is more difficult to attach the GoPro but still doable. This will prevent the mount from vibrating and causing epileptic videos.

Well it worked remarkably well! To get the right angle for an AFR and rpm shot I had to raise the gopro by about 4 inches with those little plastic arms. I put some tape down first and even with the gopro raised, the video was amazingly steady.

I used electrical tape which makes taking it off rather difficult, what do you use?

What I had on there this last weekend was masking tape(that nice blue stuff you cover your car or bike in for trackdays), it temporary but work really well with only two strips. The other one I like to use that lasts longer and slide easier is clear box packing tape. It's a pain to apply cleanly but if down right while last quite awhile before gumming up.

+1

not to mention you can also use the white or orange rubbery thing to reduce vibration when clicking it into the adhesive mounts

For the price of this thing and the intended applications and the fact that the shape necessitates a stalky mount more than a bullet cam, it should have a rubberized mount in the first place. *crosses arms*

The tape trick does work, and all the little rubber "nose plug" does is keeping the camera from accidentally being unlatched and falling off.

I use gaffers tape, it's the same stuff that movie makers use on film sets. It's very sticky, but using a natural rubber adhesive no stuff is left behind after pulling it off. Now once it gets wet, then game over, but I really love the stuff.
