Creeper followed me yesterday...
I was riding my bike to my friends' house yesterday afternoon and about 1/2 mile and four turns away from reaching my destination, I notice there's a guy on a red CBR behind me. I don't think anything intelligent about it, pretty much "I like bikes" is about it. Ha.
I make a right turn to head towards my friends' house and he goes straight. So I keep going on my way, make another three turns and I pull into my friends' cul-de-sac and as I'm trying to decide the best way to park my bike in their weird driveway, the guy on the CBR pulls up right in front of me. I first assume me must be another friend of my friends, maybe even a mutual friend, but I can't tell with the helmet on. So I quit trying to move my bike around while I wait to see what he has to say. He just sits there for a little bit and then flips up his visor and says, "Hey." At this point, I'm thinking it's awkward, but he's about to introduce himself as a friend of my friends. I say, "Hey..." kind of questioningly and he is like, "What kind of bike is that?" so I tell him "A ninja 250..." - starting to sound more doubtful and creeped out now. He just sits there and stares at me for a while and I'm thinking "Uh I really hope he leaves now or that someone else comes outside... So awkward when I haven't even put my kickstand down... How did he follow me here? He must have been scouring the neighborhood... Thank God this isn't actually my house... Creepy creepy CREEPY." So finally, after 10-15 full seconds of silence and him still staring, he says, "Bye" and then just slowly gets going up the street. WTF? I have no idea what that was about, and since nothing bad happened, I was trying to think how I could give him the benefit of the doubt. The only thing I can think of is that he lives nearby and just wanted to see who I was and introduce himself or that he just thought maybe if he talked to me, we would strike up some amazing connection. I don't know. He did not do a good job of pulling off the conversation and not being creepy if that's what he wanted.

Actually, I wanted to borrow a dollar
Serious... having a bike in common sometimes makes people do stuf like that. I've had similar things happen where it seems like a stranger acts like we should be buddies because were both on two wheels. Trailing me around town for awhile without pulling up next to me at a stop. Has creeped me out before... and I'm a guy!

Yeah, if that's you in the avatar pic, I'd wager he probably just either wanted to introduce himself to a biker chick or was a bit nervous/shocked to find it out was a chick if you were in full gear. Maybe he wanted to see the ninja?
I know I've tried my hardest to follow this one random guy that goes on the same highway home as me because he rides a blue ninja and I've always wanted to just talk to him and see what he thinks about it and what not. |

Sounds like he went in hot with no exit strategy.
I would've at least followed up with something like, "wanna cruise around a bit?" Lol there's two sides to every story. It may have been some shy guy getting the courage to say hi. I would just be flattered unless he's really stalking you. |

I had a creeper block me into a parking spot once.
It's about the approach. Following a girl to a residential area is going to creep her out. |

To be honest, he probably just followed you because you were a girl and either he didn't know what bike it was, or he just asked to start a conversation.

I think it wouldnt have if he would have approached it better, for example "hey I was just riding to a buddys house and saw your bike and wanted to check it out and say hi." wait for response "Nice bike, I was riding to my friends and then saw it and wanted to see what you had, sorry to bug you" wait for response. "sup baby" jk jk jk but seriously the first two I think would have been adequate. I think the guy was just kind of an awkward guy, or maybe he didnt know it was a girl so when he saw he was kinda embarrassed.. but really the first two suggestions is what I would have done, and then if the response was like "get the eff outta here" then you act accordingly. Since I dont know the OP I dont know if thats what she would have said, but she seems nice, so I doubt it. the problem was in the conversation, if it was a pleasant and less awkward conversation, the dude coulda had a new friend/riding buddy. But he failed. Im clearly not an expert on female thoughts or behaviors, but I did manage to get a cutie to marry me, but that may have just been luck

Sorry Mo, it was me. I was intimidated by your stunning bike. A few minutes after I left I came to my senses and turned back around... you were already inside by that point though so I just crouched in the bushes and watched through the window. had to leave before you were done so I didn't get a chance to follow you home.

Thats beyond awkward for both of you... assuming he isn't a total creeper/stalker I feel kinda bad for the dude, if I saw a hot girl riding her own bike I'd definitely want to talk to her lol.... I wouldn't follow her like to a neighborhood or anything like that, wasn't the best thinking on his part by any means because even if he had good intentions, it is kinda weird. At the same time you might've been the first girl he's ever made social contact with and now hes completely crushed inside lol.

I've occasionally followed a fellow biker if they were going the same way as me but never really did anything that could be considered creeperish or stalking. He could have thought you'd seen him and pulled off the road to talk biker stuff, which imo would be pretty cool. I've had other bikers follow behind me for a bit but eventually turn off while politely waving goodbye. If he was following you around a subdivision then that's a bit odd. You should take it as a complement from a guy who seems extremely shy...

Maybe he thought he recognized the bike as one that was either stolen from him or one of his friends. Once he got close and realized that it wasn't the bike he thought he got flustered.
Dunno... I'm trying to think of an alternate motivation because the behavior is just weird. |

I've waived at girl bikers or made one turn out of my way to follow a girl biker just because she was a girl and I wanted a better look at the bike. There's one Lady rider on a 250R that I've seen once. I waved. That was about it. I would say that dude crossed the line into creepy territory, but I doubt his intentions were bad if all he did was say hi.
That being said, dude had a great opportunity to get a riding buddy. Say hi, start a conversation, trade numbers so you can ride together sometime. He passed it up... |

Not saying the guy was a creep, but I hate being talked to while riding. I hate when people holler at me out of cars, try to race me, try to ask me about my bike, etc. I've had a cop pull me over just to ask me about my bike, that was weird, but it ended up being a pretty cool thing once I realised I wasn't getting a ticket.
My policy is only talking to other bikers if we happen to be in the same spot. I don't chase people down and don't appreciate it being done to me. YMMV

Damn creepers!
You came out of the situation ok, that's what matters. Of all the places that kind of situation could happen, that's probably one of the better ones too: daylight, residential area, outside a friends house, on a bike with a loud horn you can use to draw attention if you need too. It's kinda odd that the guy doesn't seem to know that following a girl when she's by herself is going to make a lot of girls feel threatened/vulnerable. I've done martial arts before and it's boosted my confidence a bit when that kind of thing happens. I recommend Wing Chun. It's a style of Kung Fu that does not rely heavily on strength. All the guys and girls at the club I went too were quite evenly matched. It didn't seem that we were disadvantaged by generally having smaller muscles and stature. That's so tragic! Poor guy lol |

equalizers
I took my old lady from Fl. upto the Blue Ridge mountains in Pa. for a winter and we liked blizzards and getting snowed in and all so much we stayed for two. Great cabin, generators et al. She was as anti-gun as one could be, as I was acquiring a collection from down in the holler. Then what happened to you happened to her, in a very unpopulated area. My .38 off-duty (hammerless) was the smallest handgun i owned until that point. She is a good marksman with her Berretta Tomcat .22 and close-up NAF .22 magnum derringer. There are times and places where **** happens, glad you were at your friends, in a populated area, and made sure you weren't followed home. Though I could do that with your plate. Be careful out their, not paranoid, prepared. Peace out.

You guys are all cracking me up! I'm glad you've come up with some more ideas that are more on the benefit of the doubt side.
I have been told I am unmistakably a girl on my bike, so I don't think he was shocked to find I'm a lady rider. Probably, he did just want to talk and crashed and burned terribly. Poor guy. I just hope he learned his lesson and doesn't try that approach again! On a semi-side note, I do hate when people pace me and try to yell at me while I'm riding. I'm just thinking, "Just watch the road! Please!"

Must be different for guys.
Just last week a guy on a CBR600RR pulled up behind me at the same gas pump I was using. If I wasn't late for class and my dad didn't somehow appear right behind me one foot I would've tried to chat him up a bit (no-homo). A guy riding in AZ in over 90* heat with gear on and who lives nearby is a riding friend I'd love to have! Maybe it's different since I'm a guy, but I love meeting new people on sport bikes. |

I tried waving a female rider on a red new gen over at a gas station in Santa Clarita about a year ago. Me and 2 buds were planning our route when she pulled into the station to gas up. I got her attention and waved for her to come on over. We had 2 250s and a 650. She looked at us and then got the hell out of there. Since then I don't bother. I'll nod politely at another rider who pulls up next to me at the light, as long as they don't do that in MY lane.
OP - I agree that creepy guy probably had some idea in his head of how smooth talking he was going to be with you. Unfortunately the execution of said plan resulted in total fail. |

I agree that the guy was probably thinking, "Even if I screw this up I have to try." I bet he's standing in front of a mirror right now, fully geared up, practicing what he will say the next time he tails a hot girl on a bike.
Maybe he should have tried this! |

hes on a bike,,, you're on a bike////Maybe he wanted to tag along? Or talk;;;;? I always tag up with bikes with my buddy and well end up pulling into timmys or gas stations to end the ride with a 30+talk. Maybe he's shy.!

Why can't hot girl bikers stalk me and follow me around? LOL
I actually hate when people attempt to talk to me when I'm on my bike. I don't think they understand that I'm wearing earplugs and there's an engine running right below me and it's really hard to hear them let alone decipher what pointless nonsense is coming out of their mouths. Though the most common situation is someone not believing the bike's "only a 250."....people sometimes :/ |
