car wreck- sister.

Hey guys your collective good thoughts have done a world of good for Jon ( along with his family and his hard work)
My sis was in a wreck. Is consious but lungs are punctured with mutiple fractured ribs various other internal injuries. Breathing has been an issue but doing it with tubes for drainage. Can talk but in tons of pain. Her health was not the best to start with so this compounds the lung issues.

Details are sketchy and we are not the closest ( oil and water) but she is my only living relative. This has been conflicting for me to say the least.
apparently there is that Blood thing that makes you care even if you are not compatible.

so please join me and send good her way ok thanks.

Best wishes then. Wrecks are tough to recover from mentally, as well as physically. I hope she does both.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your sister for a quick recovery. Even though the two of you are like oil & water, blood is always thicker than both water and oil. My best wishes go out to you as well Zartan.

This is what "family" is all about. My dad used to tell me "you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family so . . . "

Thoughts and prayers for both of you.

Thanks so much. She seems to be finally resting and I have not gotten a very informative update today. So I am assuming no news is ok news.
I thank you for your kind thoughts of wellness her way!
I will call the Nurses station directly tomorrow. Just need those lungs to get better quickly. The bones will heal in time. No surgeryright now, they said would not help so she just has to heal those ribs and pelvic. That has to be painful. yikes
I am thinking the best. thanks again .

Received good news this am, she is starting to cough up stuff ( sorry gross) on her own so the lungs are starting to do their stuff. Pneumonia is always a worry so coughing is good. Getting the pain managed a little better also. They will try to get her up in a day or so. I think ya all are helping.

Yes, coughing is what they want you to do in the hospital. I used a breathing apparatus quite a few times a day to ward off pheumonia during my three week stay after my accident. Tell her she's doing a great job!

UPdate:Since you guys were so great to provide support, I thought I should update you.
Things went downhill last week but back up hill now and My sister is out of ICU today!! Lots of broken parts still but trouble breathing.

I am getting conflicting information depends on who I talk to . If I go down there I would probably have a stroke.
So again thanks for all your good thoughts I do believe it helps.

I think the pain team has her a bit overmedicated and that complicates breathing. it is a catch 22. I am also being told that there might have been an incident of some " Outside drugs" coming in. what the heck?? addiction is a bitch.
This is why I can't go down there, I would be breaking some dishes.
And really I have no business directing the traffic down there being on the outside. Again continued good thoughts her way. thanks Ninjette buddies!

Thanks again!!
she is breathing much better and have checked herself out of the hospital. EGADS!! just out of ICU and can't even walk yet and alot of broken parts. sigh....
I am glad she is better but not sure if she is up to decision making yet, again I am given the task of not judging, a thing I must learn so it will keep coming up in one way or another.

I wish it was warm riding weather!
A good ride to clear one's head.....
