Have you ever....

have you ever thought that you're riding a motorcycle when driving a car? LoL - i ride my motorcycle every single day to work and school and whenever I go somewhere with the wife, she makes me drive. Anyway, I was driving the Jeep and as we were heading over to good ole Wal-Mart, we were coming to a stop (because of a red light) with several cars ahead of us. I seriously was not thinking clearly and was attempting to lane split with the freakin jeep! My wife had to scream and I had to hit the brakes and she was like, "what the heck are you doing!?" lol I told her I was going to lane split but in reality, it wouldve been impossible with the SUV. I have to admit, it was a scary moment and yes, I know it seems ridiculous (like really ridiculous) but I seriously thought of driving the car as if it was a motorcycle... anyone ever experienced anything similar? just curious

Sometimes I wave to oncoming motorcyclists without thinking about it and realize I'm not on my bike.

Never accidentally lane split in my car though.

I've shifted to neutral at a red light when driving my truck.

If you crash into someone, just explain you were counter steering. They'll understand.

When I'm in a cage, I find myself leaning into corners, and looking through all my turns just like I do when I'm on my bike. When my bike was out for a couple months getting fixed, I actually put on all my gear and got into my truck to go to the store. I didn't realize what I had done until I hit my helmet on the window... So yeah, I've been there.

Leaning and looking through turns, hitting the brake pedal in short bursts to warn vehicles behind that I'm stopping, doing a head check when changing lanes...all carry over on the rare occasions when I have to ride my rust bucket.

A few months ago, wife's car (a v6 gen coupe, rather hot) had to go in the shop for body work. She had to drive my honda element (the toaster) and I rode the bike that week. She said she would forget she was in the toaster until that moment she tried to pass on the two lane.

A couple of weeks ago, we got her a vulcan 800 with loud pipes and I tease her about her bike not being that fast, rather just putt putt putt putt. She promptly fired back at me that all my car did was Toast toast toast except when it was coast coast coasting.

Shoulder checking when changing lanes, putting it in neutral at lights and wanting to wave at bikes. Also, forgetting that I have A/C and a radio by the time I get to my destination.

Some of my riding has leaked into my caging. Here is one thing that annoys the crap out of me. When taking curves, the body of the car gets in the way. Where the wind shield ends and the body/roof support is on the drivers side.

Ugh, this so much. If you're looking through a turn in the car the support is DIRECTLY in the way. I guess they didn't design the car with us in mind...

I sometimes avoid gravel in my cage. I'm sure the cars around me wonder why I end up in the oncoming lane because of a few stones.

This thread is hilarious.

lmao @jdoucet93. Full gear in the car! Humans are so dopey

I rarely ever drive cars, but I do find myself doing motorcycle-things when on my bicycle.

Today I rode my bicycle for the first time in a long while. In my first turn I was amazed how I leaned the thing into it, slowed down a little bit after that

my stang is 370rwhp stick... my wifes car is an econo box automatic..then there is the bike..
I have tried to shift the auto... hand brake "paddle style" in the stang and worried cause i was in a turn.. and often felt im the size of a cage on a bike

PSA: You should always do a shoulder check of your blind spot before a lane change in any VEHICLE you are operating. It is not exclusive to motorcycles. End PSA.

I have started to wave to other motorcyclists while in the car. My wife at the time started making fun of me because of it. Sometimes I still think about doing it. One day I will.

I generally ride my bicycle like I ride the motorcyle: a bit of positioning here, practicing some trail braking there (even though there is no benefit on the bicycle), constantly scanning for threats from other vehicles, always looking where I want to go, etc.
