santa's coming to town

I know its early...but i'm already in the holiday spirit. Since Santa is finalizing his list and pumping out all the toys and stuff, just wondering what you want from him this year?

Here is my list...(in no specific order)

diamond necklace
IPOD
bullet (the blender thingie)
mario party game on WII
Legend the movie

I know there is more, just can't think of all of them

Problem with my list is they're expensive stuff. Not that I'm high maintenance or have expensive taste but all the stuff I want/need are expensive. So, I never bothered telling my GFs/family/friends what I want. I just tell them whatever, it doesn't matter. But once they dig deep they later realize the stuff I really want are expensive shiet, and it ruins the whole meaning of giving!

For example, stuff I want:

Toyota Tundra OEM Stainless Steel Brush Floorboard = $500
New BodyWork = $400
New tires = $250
Brembo caliper/brakes for the 600 = $1000+
Ohlins rearshock for the 600 = $1300
Snowboard = $200

And that's just off the top of my head.

I've been like that with my car parts. carbon fiber driveshafts, big turbos, etc. the trick is to just ask for a gift card from your favorite shopping store. I plan on asking for gc's for motorcycle-superstore.com this year. That way, they spend however much they want and you get what you want at a lower cost to you. It's a win-win

This year, we're having the family get together at my house, so it's going to be a blast. Since I gave up modding the stealth and riding the bike, there's really nothing I want. I have my BRT TIS coming as we type, so I can't think of anything else I want for the ninja. Maybe a set of rearset adjusters?

The idea of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Giving and receiving gifts is just a fun way to do it . Besides there's nothing wrong with asking for something that you want. Better than getting a pack of socks and underwear every year. My wife and I always give more than we get, but we don't mind. It is as rewarding seeing our loved ones faces light up as getting something we've been wanting but can't justify spending the money ourselves.

looks like you've upgraded from toy cars and truck to actual cars and bike parts. hope you've been a good boy this year!

its not as fun to list the things you're giving as the things you'll be wanting to get.

A peaceful, happy Christmas after a sad, depressing year of loss would be first on my list.

As far as things, I'd love a Wii, but it's too expensive for me to ask anyone to get for me. Otherwise, books of every genre are always on the top of my list. Motorcycle gear (also too expensive to ask for, dammit!)

Hah. Somebody else knows what's going on!

I'm like Nemesis. I'm not high maintenance but the stuff I actually want/need is pricey.

-Gear: Berik or A* Leathers, Nice gauntlets, Arai Helmet
-Another 1-2 more Suits w/ matching ties (borrrinng but I need them )
-Spontaneous, round trip plane tickets to any random destination outside of US (This would be super awesome; I would probably love this person for ever and ever and ever... )
-Nikon D5000
-Scala Rider (pair!!)
-Books (Misc)

Santa if you're reading, I'll take a free ride on your sleigh over the plane tickets !!

But most importantly I wish happiness and stability for all!

Besides wanting a bigger bike and a place that's a bit more comfortable, Im pretty content with where i'm at in life. I'm not saying i don't dream big, but for now I have more than enough

It would be nice to get all the dents and scratches off my car, and a nice shampoo and scrub on the seats from everyone dropping food on them. oh, and a really awesome home made meal makes me happy any day.

I work with 13 women and 1 other man. About a year ago 2 of the women were saying how they wanted the magic bullet. I thought, wow they have really grown accustomed to having me around. Then found out it was the blender thingie, as Paulette calls it.

I am going to keep our Soup Kitchen open on Christmas Day. It's not a time to be cold and homeless. A good meal and some comraderie will go a long way. Our paid staff will be off. I did find a couple of volunteers along with my wife to make this happen. Just like Thanksgiving, we will serve Turkey with all the fixings. There are a lot of homeless who do not have a warm place to stay (some are living in abandoned buildings and under bridges) Most of them are Veterans ( I get sick when I think about that--being a Vet myself, I think, "there for the grace of God" I could have been one of them.) I'll stay open as long as I can. The insurance on the building does not allow anyone to stay overnight--even if it is below zero outside. I have to push myself, especially since I am the CEO (unsalaried) and my Board of Directors to raise 3/4 Million by July 2011 so that we can build a homeless shelter. Seeing these people, many who gave their all for this country, in these circumstances, makes me sick and depressed. There is no excuse for this in this land of plenty. I may not be able to do it all, but I am sure as hell going to make a dent whether the community likes it or not. We can't ignore the Elephant in our room any longer. The nice thing about being securely retired is that you can raise awareness about problems in society and not be accused of some sort of political or financial motive. I have been apolitical for the past 30 years.
