Brake pads for Track?
Finally wearing through my OEM pads, anyone care to share the preferred shoes for the 300/250? I think the calipers are the same size. . .
Thanx, Joel |

EBC Double-H ($35 or less) when I can't get vesrah. And trust, I show them no mercy. My greatest skill is in the brake zone ijs....

Thanx mang, my buddies reccommended carbone lorraine? looks like Riders discount carries them too. . . I was fine with the OEM, but maybe an upgrade is even better. . . Im track-only, so should invest in something better anyway. . .

I didn't have a problem with the OEM either, but I don't complain much about anything. Go figger...

+1000 for EBC HH pads, I've run those on many bikes, without any issues.
I have now got the Extreme HH pads(http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002LGU24K) and EBC full floating disc(http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0031BCEMM) on the ZX5R and it will stop on a dime, and leave you nine cents change, I also changed the brake fluid out with Motul DOT 5.1 Brake Fluid(http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005UGKDRY) and I already has a Spiegler brake lines (http://www.spieglerusa.com/brakes/cy...line-kits.html) The ZX2R SET up is,*Venhill*brake lines(http://www.venhillusa.com/products.html), the EBC HH pads, a new V style rotor, and changed the fluid in both front and rear with the same brand that I used on the ZX5R With all that, it too, will stop on a dime, and leave you nine cents in change. look here http://ebcbrakes.com/products/motorcycle/ Another important item, and the most overlooked is the calipers themselves. When doing brakes ALWAYS at the very least disassemble and clean the piston cups, and might as well replace the seals, nothing sucks more than you wanted to save a few bucks, but is it worth your life? And you want the fullest possible performance out of your brakes.

Joel,
Check your rotor for warping. This is the stock the rotor off my 300. The center of the rotor is lying flat on the table.

Yeah, I went to the EBC floating rotor,
FYI: Many sites say the rotors are compatible between the 250 and 300. The 250 has 6 holes and the 300 has 5.

I had a warped rotor also, but I took my wheel (with the rotor still attached) to Dr. John's in Anaheim. He got it straightened out. It hasn't warped since.
I also use Vesrahs and got them from Kurveygirl

Thanx guys, EBC HH from Amazon less than $30 delivered, although I do like Kurvey and Vesrah, maybe next time. . .
this will be the first time working on my own brakes, so should be amusing, but its not rocket science, rt? ;-) Worst that can happen is I go faster. . . |

Vesrah RJL but I also seem ok with the Galfers put on last time. Can't remember which pad off the top of my head but they held up well on the track.

check your brake piston seals for damage and check your pistons for any pitting
either or both may need replacement |

Clean the pistons with brake fluid, you may need to pull the pistons out and polish them.
Vesrah pads are the best for the 250 on track, put me on the podium many times.
