Yep, Don isn't cutting me no slack. It's good though, we have both set personal bests and learned much while battling for our 1st & 2nds. I have watched a 260lb rider (Don), ride the ballz off a 250 with a stock front end.

Don says:
Quote:
The secret to riding a stock front end while being a heavy rider is to not need to use the brakes.

I think I may sign up for one of these in a year or two on my pregen. Would be a lot of fun to work towards a podium placement and the feeling of winning a race is something I dream of.

we'll see how much work it'll take when I head over to midOhio to ride with you and chone. Now that the bike is almost ready (only small things left) I should be good to go after my first track experience over at shenny.

^^^ yea Chris

Question for everyone else. Do you ever wonder who Chris (me) rides with? Well here is one of the guys and control rider at Mid-Ohio. Also, by now, you know my non paved backyard, the roads in this vid are in "my front yard". Andy is one of the reasons I still ride street. Why? Because he "gets it".

Each person who is born is born a blank slate, first they are a culmination of their parents (or guardian if lacking parents) as they grow they adapt with those around them that they call friends. When one becomes an adult the characteristics absorbed during childhood then continue to meld with friends, mentors, and students alike. At each given point your friends and family define who you are just as much as you yourself help to define who they are. In every activity there are three steps that each participant goes through. The student stage, the doing stage, and the teaching stage. Yet not everything that is taught is necessarily pertinent to the activity at hand. The truly successful people are the ones with the attitude to succeed, likely one of the most important things that one can learn and something that can only be properly learned through association with those who have the drive to succeed regardless of their skill or knowledge as that is gained along the way.

/stream of consciousness rant based off of reading the quote above.

Took the family out for a good time at the Bunbury Music Festival. It was pretty hot standing in the middle of all those people, and to hold my youngest daughter on my back the entire time was a good test of my endurance. Enough that the gent behind me shook my hand and said, "your legs must be made of rocks to be able to hold her up for nearly 2 hours."

I ended up making a few friends while we stood there waiting between bands. My wife said, "how many people you gunna mess with or talk to? Will you leave people alone... " She was also kinda freaked out when I allowed the people behind us to take a selfy with my youngest. hahahahah

you mentioned you were cool with me taking one of the R6s out for a session on the 5th, which one would that be? I'm guessing this one.

I dunno, 06 or 08 you will be good either way though. If I wouldn't ride it myself, I aint letting anyone else ride it either. No worries mang, a ready to ride r6 will be there for ya.

Of that I am not worried. Just a quick question, does midOhio require an oil tight setup? aka lower fairings (which for a pregen 250 means all of the fairings)

No, for a track day an oil tight setup is not required for any group.

good to know, I am considering getting some track/race plastics for my 250 down the line but if I only use it for track days I think I'm good to go without spending that cash when I don't need to.

3 more ninjette members meet and it was a great 2 days at Thompson. Made good friends that I will remember for a lifetime. Check out the thread for all the fun.

Just after I get back.... I am repacked for my trip to FL for some r&r and fun time with da family. I am leaving in about 3 hours and will not return home for 8 days. I have a plan to meet up with a well know ninjette member for dinner while I am down there. Should be a good time .

You all pick up my slack please, but I will pop in from time to time.

Ride safe!

So I am back home from my FL trip. It was nice, family time is always good. While I was there, I had hoped to meet up with @Motofool for some food or a drink to two. Sadly, it was not meant to be as our schedules couldn't line up . Next time! Tell you what, I will be at Jennings in Feb, your welcome to come up laugh it up in the paddock, participate in the shenanigans and also ride. If you can't track prep your bike, you can use one of mine.

Next up!

MotoSeries round 5 @ Nelson Ledges to defend my championship points lead. It's shaping up to be another wet Sat. and a set of wet races on Sun. . I have my rains mounted and ready to go.

On the way home from Nelson, I will be stopping @ Mid-Ohio for 2 days of track fun with @choneofakind and @Sirref.

Yes, Chris, very sorry; I missed the chance to be the hands million and two that you had shaken.

I really appreciate your kind offer.

Hope you did not find Florida too hot and Floridians too crazy and that you could enjoy some beach time with your family.

Florida was awesome, weather was great and it was very much needed family time at the beach, dinners and general relaxing beside the pool.

Wow!!!! Still going strong.

I am finally back from Nelson Ledges where I took two more wins. I will only be home for less than 24 hours and at this time tomorrow I will be at Mid-Ohio to shake a couple of new sets of hands.

Can't wait!

@jschuster2 - Tell your wife thanks for the little things she let us borrow that I fogot, the bottle opener being the best to open my beer. lol

Your upgraded toy hauler is making me sooooo jealous. I hope to bring my wife to the next couple of rounds, I will bring her over to introduce you two. And... sweet racing today, it made me smile to see you 3 battling it out.

Hey Chris
Karen was happy to meet you and loves to help out whenever she can. This was her first time at a road track. We look forward to seeing you and your family soon.

Congrats on the wins. I had a shot at third but missed by a couple tenths to Dave. But what a great battle. But I did improve my best lap time at Nelson by about a half second! Gotta keep learning and improving! Love racing with all in the 250 class!

Did I tell ya... something breaks every single time I go to the track (race round at Nelson). Well done Jade.

Special thanks to Chone's dad for the help changing the tire at Mid-Ohio.

Add @choneofakind and @Sirref to the list for 2014. Again, this is a dupe pic from another fun day. Full story of fun found here.

Chone's dad was cool as always.
Ben knew what was about to go down.
Chone learned something new.
I enjoyed the show.

Thanks you guys for helping me load up all that stuff!!!!

We all made new friends and have stories to tell out families.
