New rider, almost new bike

I wanted to introduce myself.
I'm Leia, I live in PA, I'm just under 5'5" so I'm borderline short for bikes.

I finished the safety course a few weeks ago, I had never been on a bike before.

I was looking at the older style Ninjas...but then I sat on the newer style too and had a clear preference

(not ripping on the older ones at all)
I pick up my 2010 special edition red/black next week. Just under 1,000mi, never down, dealer serviced.

I'm excited to practice and improve my confidence. When I test rode the bike in the lot, I felt more comfortable than expected.

Besides improving my riding, my biggest challenge will be choosing between the bike and the convertible on nice days. Somehow I think I'll manage to deal with that difficulty.

I completely know whatcha mean with my jeep.

For me it comes down to ride time vs gear time (I take alot of short rides). Oh and passengers....

No time to properly gear up, then take the jeep/cage. ATGATT!

I'm still waiting to get my bike, the wait is killing me!!!!!

I guess they had just got it in, had to pay off the loan then get the title (it was out of state so it's a longer process). It was mailed late this week and comes Monday....but I'm traveling for work until Friday.

Torture!
I bought the Shogun crash kit, so that is sitting in my living room making it worse.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your new bike. I really wanted the red/black but had trouble finding one local. My first bike was a 2007 but it was not long before I wanted a new one. At 5'3, the ninja is a comfortable ride.
We love our jeep as well. Took my 2 year old to the beach with the top down yesterday and had a blast.

hi Leia,

i just started riding in november. i am in central bucks county but i often head north for my rides. saturday i was in center valley. (i had planned to go over to easton & into jersey but got too cold.)

anyway, if you ever see someone on a yellow pre-gen with yellow jacket & white helmet that would be me. hope you have a great summer of riding!

So I'm taking my test next month and I'm getting my 2012 black ninja 250 tomorrow . I'm nerves but excited. I think my husband is more excited since he's been shopping accessories for me.
