bike dies when giving it throttle

Hello everyone, my '09 250 has been sitting for quite a while, maybe 9 months or longer, just replaced the battery and changed the oil a month or so ago. The bike starts, but it dies when I give it throttle or it dies after I get it to about 6k rpms and wont go higher, then rpms drop and it dies. What do you think is the problem? Also there is less than a quater tank of gas, but not empty, I can hear gasoline slosing around in the tank. It's about 48 degrees outsided when trying to get her running again.

I am no expert for carbs, except for perhaps Guinness and french breads. But it's more than likely carb problems, clean them and give it fresh gas.

Some form of fuel starvation.

The butterfly valves open commanded by your twist of the wrist, allowing more air to enter the engine; however, the vacuum generated by that air cannot suck all the fuel needed for a good combustion from the jets of the carbs.

Well, I went out just now and it took quite a bit to get her started, but I was able by twisting the throttle to get her to idle and the rpms would climb, probably to red line if I wanted but only took her to about 9k. I wonder if just riding the bike again if that would solve the problem...........maybe not? I am not looking forward to getting the carbs cleaned lol.

You will probably clear some of the clog by just riding it but they won't be super clean, second best to giving them a proper clean would be to "seafoam" the bike, I havn't done this myself but the product looks like it does good work from what I have read.

I think it's a detergent that dissolves carbon and varnish, and lubricates.
