Crossgrading

Got this '80 Yamaha 850 Midnight Special from a neighbor moving out of the area. $550. It needs some TLC and a new starter solenoid, but generally it runs well and was a great find. It's way fun to ride and I'm enjoying diversifying my riding a bit. Don't know yet if I'll keep the Ninjette. More bikes = better, right?

Yeah I do a lot of highway miles for work and I'm looking forward to having more options next summer. I got an hour in today but it was warm for this time of year (40 degrees); Supposed to get cold this week and not let up until April.

Good torque, reasonable handling, super squishy brakes. I can see why the 70s/80s Yami triples were popular.

Good score man ... I always have a couple bikes

that way if someone wants to ride with me I throw them a loaner, or when one bike is in teh work shop you have a back up!

I would totally ride that thing for ages and for the price you can afford to use it once in a while.
