Twisty fun...
It's 90 degrees outside , but I ddnt care I just wanted to go for a ride..an enjoyable one... about 20 miles or so from where I live there is this really twisty road called Newberger.. It has nice houses, but no one would oppose if you're riding like a dumbass out there... I've been there 4 times so far.. On my third time I crashed.. I was making a right hander, got surprised at the last minute by an oncoming car (looks like he crossed my line), rolled off the throttle (stupid) and I went wide... I crashed.. I was wearing all gear, so the only thing that was broken was my windshield.. Half of it is off..
anyway... I went back today ( ah ah..)... the road starts at 20 mph, then 15, in the middle it reduces to 10, then goes back to 15. I think it's a good 5 to 8 miles of twisting fun. it could be more i ddnt look at the odometer.. I started slow as always in the 20s I did 4th gear about 50mph, the 15s 3rd gear about 45, the 10 2nd gear about 25. then after warming up, I did the 20s in 5th about 60mph, the 15 in 4th about 50, and the 10 in 3rd about 35 mph... I know these are not stellar numbers, but the plan was to have fun, and still keep some kind of margin of safety.. I crashed last time 'cause I was more focused on how fast I can do the turns as opposed to just relax and enjoy the moment.. I had a blast... I came out screaming on top of my lungs, like I just won the lottery. and surprisingly enough the numbers took care of themselves, I got a bit faster... I was surprised in some turns, but I handled it way better than last time.. will be going back next week... |

Sounds like you had fun. Also sounds like you should take it to the track.

not me. I have no idea how fast I'm going until I watch the video. I just shift when it feels like it needs it, and take turns at the speed that it feels right.
