Leaking Carb- Out of ideas....

Hey guys, looking for some help here.

I have a 2001 Ninja, has 135 miles on it. Obviously it has been sitting for sometime. The bike seems to run fine except the carbs leak fuel when it is running.

I have cleaned the carbs thoroughly, purchased new needle valves, tried a different carb from another ninja, purchased a new pet cock, checked fuel for debris....all with no luck.

What am i missing? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Welcome Drew, where around the carbs is it leaking from? Fuel line, bowls somewhere else?

The system for each carb is a simple valve operated by a float.

If the float freely floats, the neoprene in the valve is soft and the seat of the valve is not damaged, it must work and maintain the specified fuel level withing the bowl with the petcock open and with the engine off (and vacuum applied to the petcock) and with the engine working (vibrations).

Check the floats and float needles.

More history please. Did this just happen all of a sudden? Has the bike just came out of storage?

Check if one of the floats leaks and sinks.
A way to verify that is to submerge it in hot water and check for any air bubble popping out.
