What's an average '08 Ninjette worth?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, it seemed most appropriate, but I'm tired so who knows. I've been browsing Craigslist recently (Phoenix area) and am coming across new gen ninja 250's for between $1500 and $2000. They look alright and supposedly they run fine, though I can't confirm this as I haven't gone to see any yet, but this seems low to me. I would think an average 2008 would be worth somewhere around $2k+, not $1500. So my question is, what is an average, daily driven, dropped a couple of times but in overall nice shape '08 worth and for that matter what are newer 250's worth?

Examples: 2008 in nice shape http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/mcy/5416303895.html

2012 in below average shape but the same price as the '08 http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/mcy/5419454325.html

Another 2008 in beautiful shape http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/mcy/5396656637.html

Should I run for the hills, or are these prices normal?
Thanks.

Those prices seem typical for winter prices. They go in in certain areas during riding season. I live in a place where they cost a lot more, but $1500 for a 08 in decent condition in the winter is fair.

Good to know the prices aren't something I should be worried about. But, winter prices? The thing is, this is phoenix Arizona, people buy bikes during the winter because that's when it gets cool enough to ride. During the summer it's 120 degrees and people sell their bikes or crash without gear and are forced to stop riding.

Hmm, well they still seam fair enough, $1500 does seam a but low for price riding season, but maybe in Arizona they are worth a little less, or fluctuate in price less. I wouldn't be concerned. Just keep an eye out when buying one to make sure it runs good.

Thanks for the info. With any luck in the next 1.5-2 months I should be able to ditch my truck for something I actually want to own. Another motorcycle (and unlike my last one, I doubt a ninja is going to have a mystery short, blow all fuses and lose power in the far left lane of a bridge in front of a half a dozen full-size pickup trucks doing 55 on my way to work).

First off, bike prices are local specific and on top of that they are seasonal as well. $2k was an average price in my area last season. Now that 300's, ktms, r3's and cbr's are coming on the scene in higher frequency, the prices will drop.

Those prices don't raise my eyebrow at all.

Quick look of Craigslist and the 2008-2012's are mostly in the $2,500 range, couple around $2,000 and a couple around $3,000.

Pre Gens are all in the $1,500-$2,000 range. May have to sell a couple of mine.

If those were for sale where I lived, I'd be buying them and almost doubling the price to resell them. Provided they were in good mechanical condition, of course. For my neck of the woods those are pretty good prices.

In my neck of the woods a decent pregen is $1500 and a decent newgen is starting at $2000

Where I live cars and trucks are cheap, expensive motorcycles are worth about average, but cheap motorcycles (like ninja 250's) are really expensive. (I guess we have alot of beginners.(or posers))

My bike is expensive...so I'll never sell it unless forced to.

Average sales around here are for around $1500 - 2500 for new gens.
